Gonna put this here instead of in the classifieds since I'm going to try to sell everything together first.

2004 Mazda RX-8
Base Model w/ DVD Nav System as only option
Sunlight Silver
51,000 miles
Kumho SPT's with only 3k miles on the OEM wheels
one owner

Auto-x goodies:
Koni OTS singles
Racing Beat single exit exhaust
(I have the stock shocks and exhaust as well)
1 extra set of OEM wheels with ~70 run V710's
1 set of Enkei RPM2's (~19.5lbs, 45mm offset) with ~40 run V710's
Full set of McGard spline-drive lugs as well as a full set of OEM lugs

06-07 Auto-x accomplishments in BS:
1 ProSolo win
1 National Tour win
2 ProSolo 2nd's
2 National Tour 2nd's
4th at Pro Finale and 4th overall for 2006 ProSolo season
5th at 2006 nationals

Asking $17,500 for the whole ball of wax
KBB "good" condition private party value is $15,285
The car is really in better condition than "good," but it has been in

an accident. I can provide more details to interested parties, but

the damage was fixed very well (by a Mazda dealer) and has not

affected the "autocrossability" of the car (2 of the 2nd's and another

national trophy not listed above were earned this season since the

accident). Nothing is bent...the car still has the same alignment

capabilities as it had before the accident.

The autox extras make up the other ~$2k between the kbb number and my

asking price.

If you're interested, email bhertwec "at" highpoint "dot" edu

I guess this means you're going through with the experiment you mentioned in Walnut Ridge? ;)

Good luck with the sale, Bryan. Sorry to see you and Aaron leaving the class.

Are you in DS? Could you give us more details on the car you are running now? 3.2 V6, six speed, limited slip (torsen or viscous), etc.?

Are you sure those are 235/35/19's?

Yep, DS.

It's an 06 base crossfire coupe...they're giving them away right now--I bought it brand new for 18,800 (sticker is 30,200). It is the 3.2L V6 with 6 speed, but it has an open diff (no LSD available).

I'm quite sure they're 235/35R19...I have no idea why they call them 235's...doesn't make all that much sense when you go to the hoosier catalog and read the specs...seems more like a 255 (which is the stock size). Tirerack's site seems to have some sort of bug associated with the size, as sometimes they're there and other times they're not???

OTS Koni's went on it last night and I got it aligned this morning...I'll try it out at a local event Sunday...I'm excited to see what it can do...on paper, it stacks up quite well in DS now that 19" R comps are available.

Looks like the weight is pretty low on that bugger, easily 250lbs less than the E46 330 BMW which has proven to be competitive. Any suspension adjustability in the front end?

Lack of an LSD will be frustrating as hell in Topeka, but it will be interesting to see how you like it after a few events.

Yeah, curb weight is just a tick over 3000 lbs...we'll get it on a scale at Huntsville and see what it really weighs.

No camber adjustment at either end (well, maybe none...there are camber correction bolts for the front end with Chrysler part numbers, but we're still working on factory documentation for their use). My car has -1.1/-1.2 in the front without the bolts. Should have a decent camber curve too.

Actually, I'd be more worried about the open diff at a high-grip place where there's a ton of weight transfer...the diff doesn't matter if neither tire can get any traction ;-)

I dunno, man. Matt Murray had a hell of a time with his ZHP last year. It seemed that every reasonably tight turn was trouble. Comparatively, GJ didn't seem to have nearly as many one-tire-fire troubles at Forbes in '05.

That's a great car for that kind of money......They certainly had high expectations for that car when it came out. It will be interesting to see how it does in the autox arena.

A couple people in my region have picked up RX8's with those type of discounts.......15-16K out the door for base model 06's :Eyecrazy: Made me feel like I overpaid for my used 05 with 9K on it.....:icon_no2:

Good luck with the Crossfire.

dood, are you hitting the pipe, again? The cheapest I've heard of anyone picking up a base '06 for is right at $20k...the capitalized cost on my lease was $20.8k.

I do know that Glenn bought his '04 for $14k and that's the lowest price I've heard of for a good car with clean title:)

btw, I don't think the cost difference between Hoosier and Kumho 245's is really significant, even given wear ;)

Well, that's what Zep said he paid for his car new.....He said his friend just picked up a base 06 for 16K out the door. Seems too good to be true, I hope it is because I would like my car to retain some value when I go to sell......Don't worry Mike, I'll put those Bilsteins on and some fresh tires before I sell my car and run off to something else......:)

Hmmm...GH told me he only had significant issues with his 330 on the high-grip concrete at Oscoda.

We'll see how it goes...always have the option of trying a stiffer bar and/or wider rear tires down the road.

I paid 20.5 for my 05 sport brand new and it had the 1300 dollar appearance package and rotary accents added.

That sucks that the Crossfire doesn't have lsd. That seems the biggest reason that it is in DS.

Way off topic, but I wonder how a new G35 sedan 6mt sport with lsd would do in DS?

You're kidding, right? Didn't you and Matt cord a set of Ho-hos in two events earlier this season?
