Just picked my Baby up yesterday. Depite all the issues which have been raised by concerned members, I'll love my baby warts and all. As an owner of a Porsche I have to say this car is almost as much fun to drive as my Porsche and like the Porsche I think it will bring a smile to my face ever time I drive it. More importantly it brings a smile to my wife's face when she drives it. Guys remember "if Mamma aint happy, nobody is."

I must also give mega accolades to the Salesman who worked with me for 2 months to get the car I wanted, Sam Johnson. He was great to keep me informed and went out of his way to please me and make certain I was happy. Likewise, I ordered over a thousand dollars worth of Mazda parts from this dealership and the Manger of the Parts Department, Scott Hively, went out of his way to get the parts for me and make certain once they came in to let me know either that day or the next day they were in. Best yet, the Salesman was able to get all parts put on the car at miminal cost to me -- now that's service!. Even after I got home I got a call from management wanting to make certain everything was handled according to my satisfaction.

For those of you who may have had trouble finding the one you want, when I checked today about some additional parts I wanted to order I noted since the weekend the dealership had received or had avaible 14 RX8's of every color and configuration. I'm only imparting this information to board members becuase of their less than pleasurable expereince with other dealers.

Now let the fun begin with my RX8, or should I say, my wife's and my RX8.

:D :D :D :D

Congrats! It's a really great car (at least, most of us think so). What kind of Porsche do you have? I had the pleasure of driving a Boxster for a week, and that was darn hard to give up- if my 8 hadn't been on it's way, the Boxster would have been in our parking lot instead.

Mine's an S and a pure Joy to drive. I driven the 350Z and the Z4, and as far as overall performance the S is a pure driving and handling machine. The only other car in my expereince, which even approaches the S in pleasure of driving, is the RX8.

Very nice- I suspect we'll be in the market for one within the next year or so, as my husband was completely taken with the Boxster (and it was just a base model). He desperately wants to drive the S version now. What a choice- the 8 or an S. I don't think I'd ever leave the road if we had both.

Welcome aboard Taylor.

Make sure to share a pic or two when you get a chance.

Stopped by my dealer on Thursday evening, and they had 11 RX-8's on their lot. They are trying to sell them at a $3K premium above MSRP:o

$3,000 over MSRP is ridiculous. If you do a little research and know how to negotiate, you can get yourself a good deal. I was very surprised--I got mine for $2,000 under MSRP. You just have to find the right dealer.
