It seems I have a problem with power steering. It just feels weird. When I turn it a little everything is fine and it is working normally but when I turn more - about a quarter of the wheel turn then it feels as if the power steering stopped working and it is heavier. Then when still steering it is back on. The light did not come up and everything besides that is fine. Is it possible that suddenly my allignment is totally out of whack and that is causing it? Or is it steering motor? Any thoughts?

Get the steering checked.....it sometimes fails so that one direction is working and the other not.

A lot of the faults have been the sub-wiring harness between the motor and the main harness. If you remove and clean/re-install these connectors odds are that the problem will go away

Are you sure the PS reserver is full or not low? That happens on some of my cars you fill the PSR and eventually it goes away. Don't know why it doesn't work well half filled? Fluid level check.

It's electric not hydraulic - no fluids. I think I diagnosed the problem. I must have lost a tooth on a gearing (either on a rack or steering column). Do you think it is possible?
