In my quest for a new car I am frequenting several car forums. I am considering RX-8 as one of the most likely candidates. I have seen a number of threads on this forum about people having some real or perceived problems with their RX-8s. Naturally people get upset when there is a problem and emotions sometimes go wild.

I thought it might be useful to put things into perspective by reviewing the problems that other similar cars are having. Among other cars I am interested in G35C; I read their forum too. I thought some people here might benefit from learning about G35C problems, so I compiled a short list. I picked up only those, that were reported in the last two months and did not look like an isolated incident. So here it goes, the following are posts from this forum.

I have 2004 G35 Coupe 6-MT... After driving for 3 days..I had problems with going into 2nd gear, so three of my friends test drove and same thing happened...So i took the car to the dealer and they said i might need to replace the new transmission or need to get a new car... "I only have 200miles now.."
I'll let you guys know what happened..

Uncomfortable Driver Seat (many complains)

I am experiencing severe pain in my right thigh, right where it meets the hard ridge surrounding the drivers seat controls. I have had it to the dealer and they performed the TSB. I took it back with the same complaint and the dealer told me to call consumer affairs. I called about 8 weeks ago and consumer affairs indicated that there is nothing they can do, after getting advisement from an engineer. Today I called back to file another complaint and I get some story that they want to check with the dealer where I bought the car to see if there is some field modification they are unaware of. I told consumer affairs that it was the dealer who advised me to call them in the first place, since the dealer was not authorized to make any repairs not blessed by consumer affairs. I have read where others have the same complaint on this site. Can anyone tell me if they have found some resolution to this very painful problem? I am considering selling the car, but I hate to since I really like everything else about it.
ANything else thats common that i should have them check out!????

My car is only 3 weeks old and I've got rattles coming out all over the place. I already fixed the rear package shelf, but now I've got one in the passenger side door. I'm a little pissed about it.

Recall

I just got a notice from my dealer saying that the Coupes have a Brakelight Switch Malfunction.
