The Bridgestone RE050A Pole Position tires top the Max Performance Summer category on tirerack.com and they come in the limited stock tire size.

Has anyone had further experience with these tires? They seem to be a near perfect combination of performance, noise and comfort.

I have RE050A PP in 225-45-18.

They have really fantastic dry grip and wet grip is very good as long as it isn't cold out.
Below 10 degrees C (50 F) in the rain they can break away in an unpredictable way. (yes, I almost did a 360 in rain at 7 C)
Noise level is acceptable in that you can hear them but they don't drown out the engine like the RE040s did.
I haven't noticed the tramlining the RE040s were infamous for.
Ride quality is right where I want it to be. These tires have very quick turn-in but are not harsh over bumps.
Overall I would recommend these tires.

+1...........I'm in Florida so I don't have the cold weather issue. Grip is good and road noise isn't bad at all. Had them on about a month and no real rain to speak of, so I haven't really gotten to try them all that much in wet conditions.

grip better then the re040's in dry and wet, as good of a turn in feel as the 040's, and a fraction of the noise of the 040's

I have them in 245/45/18, and they are great! Great dry, super wet grip. Really quiet tires. The great thing about them is, with that size, they protect my rims from the curb.

I have the 225-45-18 size and dragged them along a curb with no damage at all to my nice chrome rims. I was so relieved.

Questions is what are you trying to do? These tires are a lot quieter, and better in the wet. I think the 050's are a better street tire, while the 615's are more towards track. I'm not saying that they aren't good for street, the 050's are just more civilized.

I guess in my circumstance they will be used 90% on the street but I will be running quite a few miles of HPDE and other road course events. Dry traction is way more important to me than wet.
