I got the burning smell for a couple hundred miles. Must be normal; maybe some kinda preservative burning off or something. No customization yet other than a cargo net in the trunk. I'm gonna tint the windows soon and get the 3M clear bra to protect against pebble damage up front. ok. thanks for the info. i spoke to the sales manager at the Mazda dealer. he mentioned that this is normal for the catalytic converter to emit this burning smell as it's breaking in. i'll look for info on catalytic converters now... let me know what kind of tint you get (ie grade/shade) and the shop. maybe they have a location up here in the SF bay... syntrix 09-25-2003, 09:14 PM Awesome!
