very exciting car! i used to have and race an rx7 and it is sure good to have a rotary again. black on black, GT and nav system.

it really reminds me of my 94 probe GT, also a great and somewhat overlooked car.

i drove the 350Z also and the rx8 kicks that piece of crap all over town.

The 8 is a more fun to drive car than the Z.

im joking a bit- the Z is a nice car too of course- ive got a 1973 240Z and the 350 is really cut from the same cloth- but same goes for the rx8 reviving the spirit of the original rx7.

now... when is the aftermarket going to restore to us that 270hp i know this motor can make :)

Are you gonna keep the Probe? I'm still thinking what should I do with it. Would love to keep it but there's no garage space left and the wife wouldn't be too approving either :D

To keep this post on-topic, yes, I also tried several other cars, Z and Infiniti G35C included, and at the end, the RX-8 still came out on top for me, despite the power disadvantage. So much more fun to drive than the others :)

ive got too many cars! i need to get rid of some. i cant imagine getting rid of the probe tho. however, if there is anything crazier than having a black car, it is having *two* of them.

i actually almost went with a more base model... it is a much better deal. i suspect you could get one for 24-25K right now, the market is soft with all the bad press right now. you still get all the real good stuff.

Congrats! I test drove both the RX8 and the Z myself.. and I enjoyed the 8 a lot more. The Z just seemed to lack character. Handled great and plenty of torque.. but was just very.. bland, I guess.

Oh yeah, and Probe GT pride! I had one of those before I got my prelude, and I have since sold the car to my best friend. If I buy the RX8, I'm going to sell him the prelude and buy the probe back off him as a winter car!

The Probe GT is by far the best bang for the buck in all around performance. Handles great, decent power, lots of storage space, good looks, smooth, strong engine and tranny... Only drawback was the crappy ford interior! Of course, since it has the ford label (even though they're mostly mazda) the resale is crappy on them, so you can pick em up for nuthin!
