Apparently there is a stand-off with some armed psycho across the street and a section of Sunnyside Road is closed off and the SWAT team is here and dozens and dozens of police. We can't really leave or anything right now, so I hope it's cleared up by the time I get off work in about three hours.

Interestingly, no one felt the need to inform the three of us in my building that we were not allowed out or anything until we tried to go pick up dinner and we found police all over the place and they told us to get back inside and couldn't leave and what was going on.

So that's where encorez went!

Be careful and stay safe. Keep away from the windows. And let us know when everything is OK.

The police told us to get back inside because we were "in the line of fire" and that was the only warning we got. Good job there police and security staff at Kaiser.

My office is in the back part of the building and not really near any windows, so that's good. The doors are all also pass key access only so I'm not overly worried that someone is going to get in the building. I'm just irritated that no one felt the need to call over and tell us what was going on.

Well, it's finally over, more than six hours later. I don't know all the details but I guess police showed up at his home to arrest him on several warrants, one of which was felon in possession of a firearm. He barricaded himself in his home and caused the whole mess. I guess it started right about 4 p.m. which was just a few minutes after I actually got to work, so I guess I'm lucky I got to work at all. Anyways, I guess they shot teargas into his house and everything and he still wouldn't come out. I don't know anything else but it's over and we aren't on lockdown anymore.
