NoTears316 04-11-2007, 12:24 AM Maybe I'm reading the gauge wrong, but was that thing idling ridiculously low? lone_wolf025 04-11-2007, 12:34 AM Did seem that way. But damn! I STILL feel all tingly from hearing that thing go! XDEEDUBBX 04-11-2007, 12:41 AM wow, that was an intense 10k run! '87 Turbo II 04-11-2007, 05:25 PM Well this is the 14k redline FC. If you look at the calibration it was idling around 8 or 9 hundred. My car idles at 750 on colder days. Wanganrx8 04-11-2007, 05:52 PM damn sounded like a fighter jet taking off. oh and is it just me or is the person in the drivers seat smoking while dynoing?? lol :smoker: Rootski 04-11-2007, 08:53 PM Sounded like the world was ending. I want one. Mazdaspeed RX8 ver2 04-11-2007, 08:58 PM i felt like i was in heaven... tajabaho1 04-11-2007, 10:21 PM dam, if only the rx-8 have that kind of upgrade......we would be pwning the streets like crazy mikeyfuzz 04-11-2007, 10:28 PM That made the craziest sound I have ever heard out of any car(rotary or otherwise) REV_ME_62 04-11-2007, 10:53 PM Weeeeeeeeeee! I felt the vibration of power! Renesis_8 04-11-2007, 10:58 PM Well this is the 14k redline FC. If you look at the calibration it was idling around 8 or 9 hundred. My car idles at 750 on colder days. Does it go to 14k? I doubt it, but damnnn that motor is insane, the shop is about an hour drive from me. ________ LoveAnalSexx (http://www.girlcamfriend.com/cam/LoveAnalSexx/) Easy_E1 04-11-2007, 11:16 PM Seems I have seen a few other videos of that dyno run with this car also ,damn thing is nice. This one scares me though,,,RX-7 Blown 20b (http://rx7video.vidiac.com/recentvideos/1/585859d1-041d-46fb-9767-a8552f6edcf6.htm) Don't meen to hijack the thread. NoTears316 04-11-2007, 11:19 PM Well this is the 14k redline FC. If you look at the calibration it was idling around 8 or 9 hundred. My car idles at 750 on colder days. Like I said... looking at the gauge it looks low, like about 200. '87 Turbo II 04-11-2007, 11:33 PM Like I said 14k redline. Look at the way it's calibrated. It is a custom made 16k tach. the first line is at 2,000. That idle looks like it is bouncing just below halfway between the 2 and the 0 i.e. 800 to 900. '87 Turbo II 04-11-2007, 11:34 PM Does it go to 14k? I doubt it, but damnnn that motor is insane, the shop is about an hour drive from me. I was freaking out too, then noticed the damn redline. But regardless, that's pretty f$^&ing low for a peripheral ported 20b, no? -Cody Moostafa29 04-11-2007, 11:38 PM That thing is insane!!! '87 Turbo II 04-11-2007, 11:43 PM Correct. I was freaking out too, then noticed the damn redline. But regardless, that's pretty f$^&ing low for a peripheral ported 20b, no? -Cody Well adding the extra rotor could actually make it possible for a lower idle. the P-port as well. The P port giving it more air makes it easier to burn, and having 3 rotors combusting at 3 combustions per rotation make it easier to keep up the momentum, even at low speeds. '87 Turbo II 04-11-2007, 11:48 PM I'm surprised you guys hadn't seen/heard of this car before. I';ve had these links for over a year now. I guess the 7 forums just got hold of a 7 video first. NoTears316 04-11-2007, 11:49 PM Time to get your eyes recalibrated... http://www.angelfire.com/ne/notears/okaythen.jpg '87 Turbo II 04-11-2007, 11:53 PM Alright then, you win what can I say. the sheer fact that it's still running will have me believe that the custom gauge, although cool and matches stock really well http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n15/eastermonkey/Rx-7%20rainy%20day/IMG_0157.jpg it may have manufacturing defects becaus eit's a oneoff. I know that's not what this discussion was about, but just notable. I will give in and say you're right about that though. '87 Turbo II 04-13-2007, 08:05 PM This thread was getting quite a few responses when it was just one photo, I post a link to 4 more vids and the thread dies? t-run/8 04-13-2007, 08:09 PM Wow!
