Been an owner of all 3...the 8 wins. Not the fastest, but the most comfortable, best riding, highest quality (WHOA...no rattles!?), easiest driving, most ohhs and ahhs from people, bang for the buck...damn..and it makes you grin when you hear it rev to 9k RPM's...etc. I admit, I've never been a Mazda fan, but for me at least, it's how you feel behind the wheel. The Z was the most distant IMO. It's a decent car..kinda Porche wannabe..but it's distant. The G35C is a fantastic car, but I needed better accessability. But the 8...you feel one with the road. There's no hop over bumps like the Z, or annoying rear view mirror buzzing like the Z, or rattles in the door like the Z....but pure enjoyment. The 8 is also on of the most easy cars to drive...even with the stick. It's smooth, linear...the Z was close, but had a prob grinding in 3rd for some reason...oh well...f nissan...hello mazda. Sorry guys...just getting tired of the "Z Whores" bitching on this board. I figured if anyone can preach about the 8 vs. "Midship" platforms..it was me.

Thanks for posting. Sounds like you have went through a couple of cars fairly quickly.
How did the mileage stack up between all your recent rides ?

Thanks for your opinion. Having not driven the Z, an unbiased (multiple) owner's take on the debate is a rare welcome addition. :)

I don't see why it can't. I'am not asking for anyone elses opinion..just expressing my own observations. Unless somebody who's owned all 3 or have driven them extensively, it would be easy to blow them off. It's kinda hard to aruge with someone that has owned your car if you're a Z owner wanting to stir up trouble. All three are great cars and fit different people's desires in their automobile. Based on my experiences the RX8 fits the bill better. Whether some or all people agree with me...that's up to them.

I usually get a new car every year.... sounds like you are above my schedule!
Agreed on the smooth power, and the 8 doesn't jump over bumps like a lot of cars!
When drifting, feedback is great with the car!

Haha..well I plan on keepin this car for quite some time. The Z was doomed once my wife rode in it. She hated the up and down up and down up and down hop going down the highway. She also didn't like the high door sills, etc.

Hahha, almost all of my other cars, I've been ok with, but this one just screams, "keep me for more than a year".
Truly a well balanced, well engineered car! Can't wait to get to the track next month in this car!!!!
