The threads are only plastic and wear out. Mine is epoxied on. S DarkBrew 03-28-2007, 05:55 AM Now you have an excuse to get yourself a Voodoo knob and an AFE short shifter. http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/1774/dscn2181ar2.jpg imput1234 03-28-2007, 10:28 AM my knob is adjusting if i rotate is that normal or what? Mine used to do that, I just rotated it back. lol 23109VC 03-28-2007, 10:42 AM do most people here on RX8club leave the stock knob or are you swapping out to an aftermarket one? on many of my past cars, I have changed out the knob...but the RX8 knob is cool b/c it has the rotor shape.... although it may not be the ideal shape to fit your hand.. i don't have an 8 yet, still shopping for what car to buy and the 8 is at the top of my list....i've driven one and i liked the shfiter...but after you all have lived with the car for some time, do you find the shifter has an awkward feel and change it out? dmc27 03-28-2007, 10:55 AM Anytime you use something all the time you get used to it. Never really considered the feel of it, never really noticed it seeming akward or anything. Some people change out the knob. Mine was starting to bother my hand so I changed for something smooth. The reason I changed to the AFE short shifter was because of Agent008. He let me try his and after that I couldn't stand using the OEM unit and had to change it. Stavesacre21 03-30-2007, 07:37 AM in short, yes that adjusts it...it removes it if you wind it counterclockwise. |
