View Full Version : Turn signals on rear view mirror a possibility...

I was just doing some homework on this... here's what I figure..

Look at the picture from the MazdaUSA site below:
http://www.rx8forum.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=12880

All the cars with that type of rear view mirror have had the mirror with a blinker in it. As shown:
http://www.roadandtrack.com/images/rt_images/2002/april/bts/2002_04_bts_rx_8_mirror_thumb.jpg

However, since the red car has come out, there's been talk there might be no blinker in the mirror, since the red car has a redesigned side view mirror....

However I find it telling that the shadowed image on the MazdaUSA site would include the design that also had the blinker on the mirror... Let's hope so!

it tells us that they just photoshopped yet another old image to include on the webpage. the shadowed it so people wouldn't catch that it was the old yellow one. guess that didn't work for them though. we are all too into this car to get fooled by such shenanigans.

I'm sure that the aftermarket will quickly provide mirrors with blinkers similiar to the ones seen on the prototype if they are not included on the final product.

I'm going to lease (Because I want the RX-7 afterwards :D), so that's not an option for me.

I don't care much about the blinkers really, I just want a nicer more streamlined door mirror like the M3 style ones.

While I love the turn signals on the side view mirror, I do not think that we would be getting them. I would like to be wrong, but doubt that I am.

I find that the new mirrors that do not have the turn signals appear heavy and thick and take away from the overall lithe appearance of the RX-8. The stalk that attaches the mirrors to the body of the car are unattractive when compared to the last ones viewed.

Still, this is my next car.

It may only be the European cars that have the mirror indicator

I hope not :(

I at least want those TYPE mirrors.. I hate the bulky ones they have on the latest car. I like the Euro M3 style mirrors, as they are much better looking.

Sorry all:

The cool turm signals in the mirrors will not be making the show.:(

I for one, wish it were not tue, but this didn't make it. it probably has something to do with the need for a certain amount of ruggednesss, you know folding them in when going throught a car wash, etc.

In any event, I think you'd agree that even without the turn signals in the mirror housings, the overall car LOOKS GREAT!:D :D
