hello everyone. I've been a member of rx7 club for about 2 years now. just signed up on here. Me and a couple of my friends will be getting together a well organized and dedicated stl car club targeted mainly to rotaries ( all gen 7s and all 8s ). Other car clubs are welcome, particulary Gateway z club and certain members from stl suburu.

our goal is to have regular meets, plan events together such as cruises/drives, shows, and basically car fanatics hanging out talkin/ helpin each other out.

the goal is to get people together in this area. i spoke out on rx7 forums there is a desperate need of a well organized club. I know alot of gateway z club members and their meets/ plans / goals are phenomenal. Big crew of freinds.

so let me know of your interest. if you want in please show interest by posting. once i get infrastructure built i'll post whats goin on and when.

Help is needed. so if you would like to help in the starting process of this club please pm me and we can meet and plant the roots to what will be a great organization.

thank you for your attention

Hey guys, who knows what'll come from Reggie's enthusiasm, but I'm going to work with him on getting things going.

None of you 8 guys know it, but back in the day we had some pretty killer meets in STL. I even rented out Gateway once for a Supra vs. RX-7 drag event that about 100 cars showed for ... and then was rained out, but still :) We had many meets of around 50 cars. I just don't have the time to run an official club anymore, but Reggie wants to take a shot at it.

So share your ideas, and if you like the idea of get-togethers in STL then show Reggie your support - there are a lot of ways you can do that.

My wife and I are debating driving to the deals gap rotary rally and I would just like to see if anyone is interested in caravaning down there with us. It's about a 600 mile drive from stl. It should be a lot of fun. Deals gap is wonderful. If you have never been you should do some research on it.

I'm interested in anything going on. I can't promise an active role in planning or anyhting, but I'll do what I can. I am always up for seeing cars and talking shop. Let me know of anyhting and keep an eye on the St. Louis 8's thread in this forum for soe updates on what me, Baseballgenius, waterlogged, dave (forgot his screen name), and others are up to.

Count me in for local get-togethers. I'm horrible about organizing things, but am great about showing up to them!

As far as the rotary rally thing, I'd love to get a taste of that, but I'll be up in Chicago that week and won't be back in time to drive down to Birmingham for the cruise. It sounds like a blast, though. I really need to prioritize my life better. CAR BEFORE WORK!!!!

Not real sure about organizing things either, but how about lets plan a little get together say on april 15th, a week after easter. That's over 2 weeks away. Meet some where in the city, talk shop, go for a drive, have some good grub :chomper: What do you all say? If any one is interested, reply and post your pick for meetting place, drive map, and restraunt pick.

How about we meet at Gateway International Raceway at 7:30 AM on the 15th? I'll be there for the first SCCA autocross of the season. :)

It would be nice to have a bigger rotary representation this year. Last year we had several RX-8s and one 2nd gen straight-exhaust noise maker. I guess you can also count the 3-rotor 20B miata that showed up for the Midwest Divisional race. Talk about big cajones for a little car!

If everyone's not into racing and still is getting together give me a call and I'll find you all afterwards if you're still out. 636-734-2110.

Anyone doing the Autox test and tune on Easter?

WaterLogged
03-30-2007, 10:23 AM
Yeah, I just signed up yesterday. Wasn't going to originally but figured since I will have pretty much a completely different car for the first race of the season I'd better figure it out.

I bet no one will bet there. I might do it b/c I will likely miss the 15th

WaterLogged

It's pre-registration only and there are 40 people registered as of yesterday. It should be good for well over a dozen runs. Worth the $45.

what time start and end? My gf/family might give me serious crap for skipping easter.

WaterLogged
03-30-2007, 12:01 PM
Not sure what time it ends. I told my family I'll see them at 3pm. I wouldn't guess that it could possibly go that late, though. Everyone else will most likely be in the same situation with their families and this thing will most likely be run pretty casually. Something like "ok, this group runs for 30 minutes, then works, then this group runs." Since there won't be any official scoring or timing, the course workers can be kept to a minimum.

It won't be a joke bro. quarter mile is fun no matter what time you run. Thiers ALOT of cars slower their.

It makes you a better driver, get a feel for the car and test your reflexes 60ftr....yellow yellow yellow...green. The tree, the times slips, real time track is pretty cool. i mean i wouldn't drive my moms land rover their, but you gots nothing to worry about. I think it be cool to see more rx8s run. hardly any.

are you rollin stock? what kinda tires.

Really... things i do in my 93 rx7 in 2nd third and fourth gear, hes doin in 5th and 6th gear. and keeps up, traction control. And some z32s and some 31s and older.

They get together and drive. alot of fun. food , drivin, talkin. mostly drivin and enjoyin it. windy roads and some highway blasts.

i'll post back. It would be nice so see some of you guys/and your rx8s come out and ride with us. pm me if you would like to come and i'll get the details as soon as i can.
