In my loaner car.
It's a PT Cruiser! (lol)
Didn't really have a change to floor it on the way home.

Rx8maniac 03-20-2007, 01:25 PM Just send it as a picture text message to your email. CarAndDriver 03-20-2007, 06:01 PM I've had the PT Loser as a rental car a few times. I even took a nap in the backseat. snizzle 03-20-2007, 08:14 PM It could be worse, you could have gotten the non-turbo model. StewyRX8 03-20-2007, 08:19 PM xfire, w00t! No More Oldsmobiles 03-20-2007, 08:22 PM It could be worse, you could have gotten the non-turbo model. My previous loaner was a non-turbo PT Cruiser. I'm coming up in the world. CarAndDriver 03-20-2007, 08:31 PM xfire, w00t! http://www.aurore-chrysler.ru/Files/186.jpg Phantom Menace 03-20-2007, 09:09 PM Next thing you know, Olds is gonna trade his Turbo P/T in for a Rabbit with NO2! ;) j/p No More Oldsmobiles 03-20-2007, 11:27 PM And then ... I'll live my life a quarter mile at a time. Phantom Menace 03-20-2007, 11:30 PM ...granny shifting, not double-clutching like he should... No More Oldsmobiles 03-22-2007, 01:25 AM Okay, for those doubters who demanded pics: Here I am at the wheel of the turbo PT Cruiser. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/andrewRX8/NMOatwheel.jpg No More Oldsmobiles 03-22-2007, 01:28 AM I feel hardcore. You will notice that I have turned my cap backwards. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/andrewRX8/NMOCloseup.jpg And now let's pop the lever and get under the hood of this bad boy. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/andrewRX8/NMOturbo.jpg Cheater turbo. I got mad powah, suckaz. Fear Me! No More Oldsmobiles 03-22-2007, 01:37 AM The only exterior indication on the PT turbo version is this badge on the back right. I supposed I could have sidled up to a Civic or two and given them a surprise. If I had a mind to do that. (sorry for blurry camera work) http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/andrewRX8/Turbologo.jpg No More Oldsmobiles 03-26-2007, 11:17 AM The PT is long gone -- almost forgot to write up my reactions: High center of gravity. It seemed like I was riding very high off the ground for a car this size. I don't think it's a case that I was coming from the RX-8. I have a daily driver that doesn't sit that high. Consequentially, I was always concerned about cornering. In any other car I have to remind myself "You're not in your Mazda" as I approach curves. In the PT, I was always aware because the thing felt like it was ready to roll over if given any speed into a turn. Acceleration was okay. I rarely had a chance to push it, though I once had it to, umm, XX mph in a 65 zone when an idiot pickup driver thought he was just going to merge everyone into oblivion. Verdict: Interesting experience for me because I was thinking about the Mazdaspeed 3, another FWD turbo. I'm sure the 3 would handle much better, though. tjbourgoyne 03-26-2007, 11:22 AM First time I drove a PT took me a while to find the window controls. Who the hell puts window button in the middle console? snizzle 03-26-2007, 01:44 PM My g/f's Saturn is like that.... I can't stand it. SlayerRX8 03-26-2007, 06:42 PM These have been around awhile...basically you have an SRT-4 with a bunch of extra weight. No More Oldsmobiles 03-27-2007, 11:22 AM First time I drove a PT took me a while to find the window controls. Who the hell puts window button in the middle console? I got into the car on a hot day and spent a long time looking for the window controls. The placement makes no sense. They must have saved something from an engineering standpoint. |
