rotaryfan04 03-13-2007, 02:54 PM whats your start time? maybe we can work around that
rotaryfan04 03-13-2007, 06:15 PM Ok how about March 27th, at buffalo wild wings on 135th street and Mur len RD, at like 7:00p.m. How does that sound?
webgrl 03-14-2007, 12:00 AM March 27th is perfect for me and I can definitely do 7 pm. Any chance we could meet at the BWW at 105th and Metcalf instead? I live in northeast Independence (practically Liberty) so 135th is quite a drive for me. The BWW on Metcalf has a big parking lot, too.
rotaryfan04 03-14-2007, 10:06 AM BWW on 105th and metcalf sounds good to me.
Tirminyl 03-14-2007, 10:47 AM Metcalf works for me.
rotaryfan04 03-14-2007, 12:50 PM I'll speak for Jayna Metcalf works for her too. Anyone else care to confirm?
kcvandal 03-14-2007, 02:44 PM won't know until that week. i start work at 530 pm
rotaryfan04 03-14-2007, 06:25 PM Well I hope you can make it, love to see a group of 8's in one place
I would probably go if it was a little closer to MO. Maybe around the race track or something.
rotaryfan04 03-14-2007, 09:20 PM Maybe at the legends, like Dave and Busters? Anyone opposed to that?Maybe we should find where everyone is located and find a middle point.
webgrl 03-14-2007, 11:11 PM I don't understand how the speedway is closer to MO than Metcalf. I guess you must be in NKC. Truth is, no location is going to be perfect for everyone. I say we just go with what we've already picked. I'm 30 miles out from 105th and Metcalf, but I'm willing to make the drive.
rotaryfan04 03-15-2007, 09:18 AM That’s true Jenny, ok then I hope KcMo can make it sure would love to see the kit and the doors in person!! BWW on 105th and Metcalf on March 27th at 7:00 p.m is still a go!!
webgrl 03-15-2007, 09:42 AM I wanna see the doors, too. Other than my exhaust and spoiler, my car is plain ol' boring stock. Just kidding on the boring part... it IS an 8 after all!
Hope to see you all there. If you're trying to get a headcount, I believe my boyfriend is coming, too. He knows more about cars than I do, so he can usually help me understand what the hell you motorheads are talking about. =P
SHOWOFF 03-16-2007, 11:34 PM I will try to make it, but I don't get off of work til 8 Mon and Tues. My wife if home in time so I'm sure she can. I'll see if she can be there until I get there. Hell it's really her car anyway..... ;)
Tirminyl 03-19-2007, 01:23 PM Ok. 3/27/07 at 105 Metcalf BWW. Im in and my car is basically stock so nothing exciting from me.
Smog2k 03-21-2007, 10:25 AM Rotary only?!?
Tirminyl 03-21-2007, 10:43 AM Doesn't have to be. We don't have many RX8 rotor heads in KC anyway :P
Smog2k 03-21-2007, 11:10 AM So if I got some fellow Mz3/Mz6 troops rounded up, the more the merrier.
I've just been working forums like crazy trying to get a fire under the KC Mazda owners. I guess I'm just jealous of the St. Louis Mazda folks, huge following and huge meets. They're so close yet so far away.
Tirminyl 03-21-2007, 01:59 PM Yep, that would be cool. Don't worry. I have been with Mazda since my MSP days and organizing any meet had about 2-3 people (including me), lol. Yet, I went to St. Louis on a business trip and had considerably more.
webgrl 03-21-2007, 10:03 PM I agree, the more the merrier. I'm trying to get my friend with a 1980 RX-7 (20k miles!) to come... he may be out of town though...
Off topic - does anyone use clear corners with stock bulbs? Any crap from the local authorities for being non-amber?
Tirminyl 03-21-2007, 10:22 PM I have clears with the chrome amber bulbs. I never had any issues with clear side markers on my cars. I even had illegal tint and no front plate because I am a rebel.
webgrl 03-21-2007, 10:23 PM What, like the stealth bulbs or something else? You get your corners from mazdaparts.com or on ebay?
rotaryfan04 03-25-2007, 05:56 PM I still have the stock bulbs and no problems yet. I agree with you guys bring the 3's and 6's I hope the weather holds out heard it might rain on us
webgrl 03-25-2007, 07:04 PM Yeah it might rain, boo. I went to the autocross at Arrowhead today. Saw three 8s out there and I invited 'em out to the meets.
foolio_jones 03-25-2007, 10:28 PM Yeah it might rain, boo. I went to the autocross at Arrowhead today. Saw three 8s out there and I invited 'em out to the meets.
I was the silver 8 out there at the SCCA event today - sorry I had to run off, but cone fetching called.
I'll try to make it Tuesday at 7. Anyone mind if I bring one of my little people? I'm more likely to get a pass from the spousal unit if I bring a little man with me.
:hahano:
webgrl 03-25-2007, 10:37 PM I have a son, too, so I have no objections. He'll be at Scouts Tuesday, but feel free to bring yours to the meet. Btw, I'm not sure I got your name... introduce yourself to the group?
foolio_jones 03-25-2007, 10:54 PM I have a son, too, so I have no objections. He'll be at Scouts Tuesday, but feel free to bring yours to the meet. Btw, I'm not sure I got your name... introduce yourself to the group?
How rude am I? Sorry about that - my name is J.D. I've got a sunlight silver '05 that is currently rolling around on black OEM wheels. It was nice to meet you today!
Jenny, if I am able to make it Tuesday, you'll have promise to drive the next auto-x day. Fair is fair, and we need more 8's doing what they were created to do! :)
webgrl 03-25-2007, 11:17 PM Hehe, I will give it a shot. I imagine one of two things will occur:
1) I'll get the record for most cones hit in a single run
or
2) I'll get lapped by the guy behind me
LOL
Is this list up to date for the weekday meet? KCMO, you're coming, right? Wanna add your name to the list? Did I miss anyone else? I think we'll have some of the 3/6 guys there, too.

foolio_jones 03-25-2007, 11:36 PM My first day of auto-x I took out at least four or five cones. The highlight was one amazing spin where I took out three cones at one time, including one with my driver's side rear quarter panel as I was traveling backwards. I think I also managed to honk the horn while going backwards.
You can't be any worse than that, I assure you!
kcvandal 03-26-2007, 02:38 AM can't make the weekday meet this week. my 8 is going in for body kit painting and install on monday. getting it back wed.
Tirminyl 03-26-2007, 08:36 AM What? I missed ALL the action.
Jenny- I ordered the clears and bulbs from Mazdaparts.com
I also was going to go to the autocross this Sunday but just didn't make it out. Sucks that I missed all you guys/ladies that were there. I am definitely in for Tuesday night. Hope everyone else can make it out to hang!
webgrl 03-26-2007, 09:34 AM can't make the weekday meet this week. my 8 is going in for body kit painting and install on monday. getting it back wed.
Sorry we'll miss you, but I'm sure it's worth it! What kit are you putting on?
rotaryfan04 03-26-2007, 01:53 PM Hey J.D you wouldn’t happen to have a kid that goes to cedar hill elementary would you. I drive a school buss for pleasant ridge and saw a sunlight silver with black OEM rims again this morning.
kcvandal 03-26-2007, 02:19 PM here is the kit i am putting on
http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=109868

rotaryfan04 03-26-2007, 02:21 PM Thats going to look good, what color is your 8?
kcvandal 03-26-2007, 04:42 PM 05 sunlight silver. need to detail before i take good pics. its been a while.

foolio_jones 03-26-2007, 09:46 PM Hey J.D you wouldn’t happen to have a kid that goes to cedar hill elementary would you. I drive a school buss for pleasant ridge and saw a sunlight silver with black OEM rims again this morning.
Good eye! That is me and small ball of destruction #1 - he gets to ride to kindergarten in the only "rotary school bus" at Cedar Hills.
I'll start paying attention to the buses rather than trying to avoid them. Throw me a wave if you see me again! :wavey:
I'll be there with my newly lowered ride and 19's
I got some connections for wheels, tires, and some suspension stuff if anyone is interested be sure to get my number. I try to sell some parts on the side, but I end up just hooking my friends up and get my stuff cheaper than retail.
Count me in-----Ryan Blue Rx-8 check sig. for mods.
Tirminyl 03-27-2007, 09:08 AM Cool. I may be the most stock 8 there, lol. I need to get on with my modding then.
webgrl 03-27-2007, 09:33 AM Mark, you and I are probably head to head as far as stock goes... my spoiler and exhaust give the illusion that I've got something more going on... but it's just that - an illusion! Hopefully that changes this year.
Ryan, I am definitely in the market for wheels. My OEMs are torn to shit.
Let's cross our fingers for no rain today! I'm reposting the list in the hopes it might help me remember names... no promises though. =P

Smog2k 03-27-2007, 09:36 AM You guys are way more chatty in here than other forums. I try to get people going, but no one ever takes the bait.
Do I stink or something?
Weather - not looking good http://adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov/radar/
webgrl 03-27-2007, 09:39 AM I just joined the forum this month. I saw a few threads going about a meet, but it never seemed to go anywhere. I want to get some things done to my car, and the only way I can do that is with a little help from those who have been there, done that. So I'm not letting this thing die! =P
Btw, Smog, are you guys coming out tonight?
Tirminyl 03-27-2007, 09:56 AM Mark, you and I are probably head to head as far as stock goes... my spoiler and exhaust give the illusion that I've got something more going on... but it's just that - an illusion! Yeah, I have tint, springs, and test painted the wheels a dark grey. No exhaust, or anything else cool :o:
Smog- I just responded to your bait, lol.
rotaryfan04 03-27-2007, 10:02 AM J.D saw you again this morning, gave you a honk as you got back in your car and pulled out; I'm the big flat nosed bus #70 usually wearing a North Carolina hat.
Ryan, defiantly kick @$$ on the suspension and wheel hook up that my next category for mods. Can’t wait to see everyone’s car hope the weather holds up.
Smog2k 03-27-2007, 10:03 AM Success!
Weather, still not good:
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/Smog2k/weather.jpg
rotaryfan04 03-27-2007, 10:14 AM It can rain before and it can rain after just not during lol
webgrl 03-27-2007, 10:19 AM Chris, you're still wearing the North Carolina hat, huh? Sorry 'bout your bad luck. =P
Mark - you painted your wheels? What color is your 8?
Tirminyl 03-27-2007, 11:42 AM Yeah, I rattle canned my wheels last year because I was trying to decide on what to have them painted as. I was going to go with black but I did a dark grey instead. I just put them back on last night as I have been rocking winter wheels. I will have them professionally done at some point. My 8 is black as well.
Smog2k 03-27-2007, 11:59 AM A guy in my office, he drives his wife's black RX8 in every now and then. He had the OEM 18" shipped to Colorado and got them chrome dipped. Can't decide if I like it or not, but either way I'm trying to convince him that his wife needs new wheels and to sell me his stocker 18" for my Mz3.
Not easy to convince a 50+ year old guy that he needs to buy his wife aftermarket wheels.
webgrl 03-27-2007, 12:13 PM Not easy to convince a 50+ year old guy that he needs to buy his wife aftermarket wheels.
Right, you just have to convince the wife that she needs new aftermarket wheels and you'll have those babies in no time. LOL
rotaryfan04 03-27-2007, 02:39 PM OK everyone see ya at 7:00 keep your fingers crossed for the weather so far so good! But don’t hold your breath because it’s about 5 and a half hour away and personally I don’t think you can do it lol
foolio_jones 03-27-2007, 05:27 PM Yeah, I have tint, springs, and test painted the wheels a dark grey. No exhaust, or anything else cool :o:
I win the stock game! Nothing non-stock on me save for a coat of paint on my second set of wheels. Oh, and the Valentine 1, but that doesn't really count.
I'll be there at 7 with the little man unless it is pouring rain. Heck, might be there anyway.
Smog2k 03-27-2007, 11:18 PM Awesome to meet everyone tonight and for graciously accepting a Mz3 guy! Can't wait until the 14th.
Oh posted a few pics of the Veyron I talked about tonight just to prove this actually did happen. I did have to change my shorts after getting the pictures next to this car. 1000hp people!!!!!!!! 2 of them were outside, the other 2 were inside.

foolio_jones 03-27-2007, 11:18 PM Had a great time tonight! Thanks to Jenny for stepping up and organizing everything.
It was great meeting all of you in person - what a cool group of people you all are! I hope my little guy wasn't too much of a busybody. I look forward to our next get-together - I learned a lot from all of you and had a really good time!
Mark, my sincere apologies again on behalf of both myself and Alex for the flying milk. I owe you a beer, soda or other miscellaneous beverage of your choosing.
J.D. (& Alex)
Tirminyl 03-28-2007, 01:01 AM JD- It's ok. I got a good laugh out of it, no biggie man.
Aaron- I missed that story. Im jealous. Not 1 BUT 4!?!
Nice meeting you all tonight! My pics turned out crappy. I have not mastered night shots. Plus I didn't get to take many.
webgrl 03-28-2007, 09:54 AM We'll get more pics at the next meet. I'll see if I can borrow my mom's SLR camera for that.
I had a great time, too. It was especially nice to hear from Chris and Jayna that I can actually do some stuff to my car without a degree in mechanics. And thanks, J.D., for making me feel comfortable about auto-x. I guess I will be out there this year after all!
Now it's time to get the other thread pumpin and get some more people out! I've done a lot of recruiting in the real world - I talk to every 8 driver I see and mention the forum.
And nowwwww I have to do some stuff to my car before the next meet!
rotaryfan04 03-28-2007, 02:00 PM Hey everyone thanks for coming out last night. Its good to put faces to names, were looking forward to the 14th.
Jenny good looking out on that camera we will have to get some good group shots. I really like your exhaust, let us know what mods you’re getting!!
Aaron I cant believe the dealer even let you stand next to it lol you might have left stare marks on it, 1000 kick ass points for you! Also how did you swap out the shark fin on your antenna?
J.D and Mark I will have to call on your collective wisdom for the wheels I'd like to touch up my stockers and both of your wheels look really good
Ryan Thanks allot for making the meet I know you’re pretty far away, it was awesome to see your doors in person and you kit looked great like I said the wheels really set if off!! Also thanks for the offer to hook up wheels and suspension parts you’re the man :worship:
Everyone one ells thanks for showing I’ll have to talk to you guys more at the BBQ in April.
webgrl 03-28-2007, 02:47 PM I have spent all day on this freakin forum and other websites trying to decide what to buy first! LOL I am looking at the K&N intake, clear corners, and a couple different body kits (I like the front bumper of the Ings+1 kit and the side skirts of the Mint Blue kit). The clear corners are probably the only thing that will get done before the next meet... the body kit will obviously be a while!
Chris, you are so mixed up on the KC thing in the forum names, huh? RYAN was there last night... he is kcmo. Matt was getting his body kit installed - he is kcvandal. =P
Ryan, got some questions for ya on the wheels/tires things... I'll pm ya. Also, where'd you get your body kit painted and how much was it?
SexyRotaryGoddess 03-28-2007, 05:07 PM Rotaryfan04 is such a nerd! :) just teasing Chris!
Smog2k 03-28-2007, 05:32 PM Aaron I cant believe the dealer even let you stand next to it lol you might have left stare marks on it, 1000 kick ass points for you! Also how did you swap out the shark fin on your antenna?
It was a pretty painless swap. Ordered it from Visual Garage (http://www.visualgarage.com/home.html) for around $60. Its fully functional so you don't lose any stereo quality. A single wire is screwed into the factory antenna slot with a supplied bolt and you're good to go. That was the easy part, I spent probably 20min. aligning the damn thing to ensure it wouldn't be a rudder on the top of my car. Find the center of your roof and the center of the fin you're good. Just make sure its right the first time, because once its on, its ON.
rotaryfan04 03-28-2007, 05:50 PM Well I saw a white rx8 at the school today with some aftermarket rims looked good so I left the person a invite to the form and the BBQ on the 14th not sure if its a guy or girl or student or teacher but its a 8 so there invited none the less.
P.S jenny were you able to find a pic of missyk's car?
webgrl 03-28-2007, 05:52 PM Sweet, definitely invite anyone and everyone you see in an 8!
She has the "Cars" avatar, right? I did find some pics. What body kit does she have?
rotaryfan04 03-28-2007, 05:53 PM Hey Aaron are the intakes and exhaust universial between the I and the S model of the 3? Also babyboyblue I think is his handle but the buy at the meet last night with the 3s got a Mazda speed intake! Can’t wait to hear it.
rotaryfan04 03-28-2007, 05:55 PM I think it’s the R magic lip kit on the front and sides not sure what the rear is, but it’s lowered with 19 in rims just FYI
SexyRotaryGoddess 03-28-2007, 05:58 PM Yeah I want to hear his intake too. Did he have aftermarket exhaust?
rotaryfan04 03-28-2007, 06:04 PM I didnt see
rotaryfan04 03-28-2007, 06:11 PM K&N drop in forsale in the part sections for $37.50 jenny
rotaryfan04 06-20-2007, 01:21 PM Hey guys I'm trying to get a meet off the ground for Monday the 25th I’m thinking a BBQ, a friend from Michigan is coming down Charles Hill and was wanting to meet some of the owners in KC if anyone is up for it let me know.
Thanks Chris
webgrl 06-20-2007, 01:33 PM Jon and I can be there.
kcvandal 06-20-2007, 02:13 PM will see if i can get off work. what is the group thinking. more bww? somewhere downtown?
tdogg4ya 06-20-2007, 02:18 PM name a final time and place and I'll try and make it
rotaryfan04 06-20-2007, 04:25 PM Not sure exactly, I know Charles is going to be here Monday not sure when, still waiting on a response he was wondering about a BBQ but BWW might not be a bad idea also. I'll post times and a idea for location ASAP thanks guys+galls
SHOWOFF 06-22-2007, 11:44 AM Not sure exactly, I know Charles is going to be here Monday not sure when, still waiting on a response he was wondering about a BBQ but BWW might not be a bad idea also. I'll post times and a idea for location ASAP thanks guys+galls
I can make BWW more than likely.
Tirminyl 06-22-2007, 11:51 AM It would be good to see your Chris!
rotaryfan04 06-22-2007, 06:12 PM Monday at 7 at the Chilis on Antioch/Johnson Drive? hope everyone can make it.
tdogg4ya 06-22-2007, 07:00 PM I'll be there
kcvandal 06-24-2007, 01:04 PM i will be there
vigozus 06-25-2007, 01:14 AM I would love to go, but I'm working monday night. However if you guys can get any info on prices, intallation locations, estimate time, and what system choices he offers will be great. here is my email vigizus@hotmail.com.
thanks, Alex
rotaryfan04 06-25-2007, 10:05 AM Glad to hear you guys will be there thanks to everyone for pulling together on this one you guy’s rock.
Hey Alex he installs about anything I'll ask about prices for labor I know he can get some good buys on parts especially if it’s a group deal but Ill get more info and let you know. Also he is only going to be in town Monday on his way to Arizona but he may be passing through in another month or two, if people want things installed.
Chris
SHOWOFF 06-25-2007, 11:01 AM Monday at 7 at the Chilis on Antioch/Johnson Drive? hope everyone can make it.
I don't get off until 8 so sorry I can't be there.
tdogg4ya 06-25-2007, 11:35 AM speaking of installs, does anybody know whether side skirts have to be painted at a dealership and installed? I got a pair off ebay for a $100.
rotaryfan04 06-25-2007, 04:54 PM What kind of side skirts? Most of them just 3m adhesive tape and some screws to attach not sure about the paint you might need to get them painted but any body shop can do that also were you coming down Santa fee trail drive around 12:45 going towards 95th I saw a copper red and waved??
webgrl 06-25-2007, 05:06 PM Speaking of side skirts, I still haven't installed my side and rear aeros... some day! Chris, I will have to treat you and Jayna to dinner sometime when you might be able to help me out.
SHOWOFF, we'll probably still be there long after 8 if you wanna swing by.
tdogg4ya 06-25-2007, 05:46 PM It probably was me or my woman driving. I haven't seen another copper red shinka in town. The side skirts look just like the mazdaspeed ones. Just need to get them painted and put on. I got these on ebay for 100, the dealership doesn't sell copper red mazdaspeed accessories, so they were going to charge me for black ones and then charge me to repaint them. forget that.
cheddar 07-04-2007, 04:45 PM Hey everybody SORRY I couldn't make to the last event I had a serious family issue in Italy and I just returned yesterday. But next meeting I am pretty sure I can make it.
Once again my bad
