Hey,

Newbie here, just saying hello to fellow Canadian members.

*Updated-03.15.07*

Well, I introduced myself a while ago, and I've been doing tons of research in regards to my purchase of an RX-8. You guys have been a great help. On another note, I thought you guys might also be interested in seeing an install I performed over the weekend on a G35 Coupe. I believe the review and pics start on Page 5:

I don't have an 8 yet. One of the reasons for joining was to better educate myself on the car. I'm torn between a few choices...but the 8 is one of my top 3.

why not? the 8 has back seat which is mucho useful that the Z and S2k don't. :)

Iam just saying the comparisons for 8 against 350z and s2000 has been beaten to death.................and i was trying to pretend to be Yoda

^^LOL

IMO, the 8 is in a slightly different class than either the S2k or the 350z. They all have plusses and minuses. Just be aware of that and you cannot go wrong.

Cheers and hopefully you stick around (after you buy your 8;) ).

actually, one of the main reasons I'm considering the RX-8 is because it offers rear seats. While I'm not quite sure they're functional(size?), I was hoping it woud be a selling point with the wife. Also, the RX-8 is much more reasonably priced than the alternatives.

insurance is lower too. yeah the reason i'm considering the 8 is because we have a baby on the way. So had to let the M Roadster go. :( Need back seat so that "the entire family can enjoy".

the 8 isn't a good family car at all imo. I've owned one for 3 years now and it is a compromise....If I had kids, this woouldn't b my only car. Id buy a corolla for the family and keep the 8 for myself..:p

I have two boys, they claim they are more comfortable back there than my wife's SUV. I think it's because of the slant of the seats. They also love the individual buckets, the console to store their PSP, the power outlet...

And they love being dropped of at school in it!

The seats are actually quite large, well supported with ample space for anyone under 6 ft.

no worries, we have a Saab 92X Aero for full time family duties. :icon_tup:

Insurance for this "sports" car is much cheaper than a S2000 or 350Z due to the fact that it is listed as a four door

^ that's a bit of a misconception. In Ontario, insurers are regulated by FSCO to use a system called CLEAR, which essentially sets rates based on actual vehicle industry loss experience. The 8 shows pretty well.
