I've been thinking about getting an RX8 as a replacement for my scooby for a while but seeing as I'm not likley to see it until sometime next year I wandering if it's worth placing my order now.

Seems to me that I might be better off waiting until there are a few cars in the UK before I make my decision.

Why can't I have the 2 tone leather interior in a brilliant Black car? According the Mazda's RX8 price giude "Two tone red and black interior is only available for Velocity Red or Brilliant Black" but according to my dealer thats a mistake and it's only available for the Velocity red.....is this right?

You can have black car with red/black interior.

First deliveries will not be until after first batch - but seeing as you are only just ordering that wont matter to you.

Originally the red / black interior was only available for the Velocity Red cars, but in June of this year Mazda announced that it would be available for the Black cars as well.

When I ordered back in March I did want the red / black interior with the black car but it was not available, when the rules changed and I looked to change my order I was told that I would be put to the back of the queue and probably not get my car until 2004. So needless to say I stuck with the blak interior.

Cool I was really dissapointed when the dealer told me I could only have it with the velocity red, not that there's anything wrong with the red I just fancy a black car for a change.

Hello and welcome.

Your problem is that most of the cars are pre-ordered well into 2004. - Your best option might be to wait and see what reports come out after the first 1000 deliveries and then try to get an ex-demo if they are available in the new year. - Or risk the £1000 deposit now!
