View Full Version : RX-8 Takes 7th in "Best to Drive" Portion of TG Survey

"It'll come as no great shock that the top ten best drives are all sports cars in one guise or another. Mitsubishi's Evo (4rd) edges out its traditional rival, the Subura Impreza (8th), while there's a strong showing from Japanese roadsters in the shape of the Honda S2000 (3rd), Nizzan 350Z (6th), and Mazda's RX8 (7th) and MX5 (10th).
saturn 02-27-2007, 11:28 AM For the lazy:
1. Lotus Elise
2. Vauxhall VX220
3. Honda S2000
4. Mitsubishi's Evo
6. Nizzan 350Z
7. Mazda's RX8
8. Subura Impreza
10. MX5
I don't know what cars were 5th and 9th. Maybe I'm dense because I couldn't find it. Then again I didn't look very hard.
Rootski 02-27-2007, 11:30 AM Vauxhall VX220 was 2nd. Not sure about the rest.
ShottsCruisers 03-20-2007, 07:04 PM Ya, a friggin' EVO blew me off last night! Scum! :Eyecrazy:

Maybe the Focus RS, Cayman, or Mini. :dunno:
CarAndDriver 03-21-2007, 02:13 AM Really dumb to have an article and not have the whole list or a link to it.
Oh yeah, forgot the Mini Cooper S. Probably one of the spots.
Drkdelfi 03-21-2007, 02:18 AM Cool that pic kinda looks like a mix between an elise and a sky
Phantom Menace 03-21-2007, 02:23 AM 6&7 FTW!
dynamho 03-21-2007, 08:00 AM Of course the English marque gets first place. :)

I believe the Crossfire is BOTH of the missing spots as it's so much car it needed to be ranked twice.
9291150 03-21-2007, 11:57 AM I'd happily take every car on that list.
But I only want 1 car, so take that same list and ask which would make the best daily driver by adding the usual daily driver criteria like comfort, ride compliance, smoothness, refinement...
Which is best? Now add comfort again...but for 4. Again, which is best?
...the reason why I bought the 8.

Thats because it is a sister car to the Opel Speedster, which the Sky is based on. It is also made in the Lotus plant I believe.

SRT-6 and regular I'm sure!

Blasphemer!!!!!!
Lalalalalalala...I can't hear you...lalalalalala.
Rotario 03-22-2007, 02:52 PM I like the 350Z, it has merits too.It does? Driving a new 350Z is what caused me to buy an RX8. And I'm pretty partial to Z cars, having owned a '78 280Z, an '83 280ZX, and an '88 300ZX. I wanted a 350Z.......up until the time I drove one.
Just my $0.02.
trash259 03-24-2007, 01:24 PM Why must you guys blast the 350z everytime it ranks higher on something? Did it take your lunch money as a kid?

Because it's not an 8!!

The Sky/Speedster/Solstice are all the 'same' car now. The Speedster is no longer based on the Lotus.
