Yick. And by the way, what kind of crappy name is "2"? How many wheelbarrows of money do these marketing execs get to come up with such crappy names?

I don't know. I kind of like the name, it if only by perceived perception. Mazda is known as the Japanese BMW, so this makes sense. Looking at this ‘B’ I can’t think of name that I can say that is brilliant.

BMW has its 3series, 5series, 6series, 7series, and all new 1series to debut soon.
Audi has A4, A6, and A8.

And I think those are lame-o names too. I was not in any way accusing Mazda of being alone in this.

Discussed in General Auto first: https://www.rx8club.com/general-automotive-49/official-new-mazda2-pics-brillo-should-have-waited-couple-days-%3B-109532/

Good to see Mazda coming to fight in the subcompact market. It will certainly be between the Fit and the 2 for most fun to drive.

Since there is a Mazda 3. Not much choice-- 1 or 2.

mazda 2 is smaller than mazda 3. I wonder what a Mazda 1 would look like.

In my dreams, it would be a renesis powered motorcycle, or maybe a lawnmower...
