View Full Version : Want to know where the first RX8 ship currently is? RX-Late 09-13-2003, 09:54 AM then check this out .... http://phptech.sund.ac.uk/cs0sst/track/rx8.php mr_digital_uk 09-13-2003, 11:49 AM So m8 ... how are you getting the data ... is this ship being tracked with purplefinder and if so how can we do it ourselves? Edo 09-13-2003, 12:42 PM If the boat left a week ago (as Mazda said) it is going damn slowly! bugbear 09-13-2003, 02:20 PM so RX-LATE please show us your workings oilman 09-13-2003, 02:29 PM Nice One! Cheers Oilman c170673 09-13-2003, 03:19 PM You should have two different coloured squarea, one for where the boat really is and one for where Mazda think it is. Made me laugh though. Chris mr_digital_uk 09-13-2003, 03:50 PM RX-Late, How about a yellow square for us on the second boat .... Presumably still in Hiroshima :( MarkW 09-14-2003, 05:30 AM lol...Very funny rx-late http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/lachen/laughing-smiley-002.gif http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/lachen/laughing-smiley-002.gif Wing 09-14-2003, 08:29 AM How does a boat go to the UK from Japan, looks like a LONG LONG trip. Just wondering, does it cut up between africa. Would it be faster to drive accross the continent? mr_digital_uk 09-14-2003, 09:21 AM So, RX-Late ... ru making this up or is it for real? If it's for real, how often do you update it? MikeLMR 09-14-2003, 09:47 AM wasn't there a typhoon in that area this week ? (probably why its not moved much) Titanium Grey 09-14-2003, 03:27 PM Wing, Boats come up the Suez Canal and then through the Med. mr_digital_uk 09-14-2003, 04:19 PM Like this .. hopefully Titanium Grey 09-14-2003, 04:38 PM According to that red dot its off course! Titanium Grey 09-15-2003, 02:51 AM Hey RX-Late, why only update it once per day, have you accessed a location page that only updates once per day? morganrogers 09-15-2003, 03:53 AM Is this for real ? RX-Late 09-15-2003, 05:33 AM Unfortunately, the tracker is not real :-( Basically it works by dynamically creating a new .png world map image each day based upon a set of X, Y coordinates stored in a flat file. The X, Y values are used to move the red square. Nothing sophisticated. Gives Mazda some idea of what would be achievable using a GPS system in their ships though :-) Don't rely on the position of the ship too much - its all guess work. But, what the h*ll it provided me with a simple program to show my students. morganrogers 09-15-2003, 05:53 AM Superb ! Shame it is not real , but I will use it as if it is ! ! ! Power to you friend ! mr_digital_uk 09-15-2003, 02:16 PM HEHEHE .... Nice one RX-Late ... you had me going for a while .... But the real question is?????? Has a boat even left port yet with our cars on board? I've not had even that confirmed yet :( Titanium Grey 09-26-2003, 07:45 AM Oh! no! It's taken a wrong turn!!! Does this mean another two weeks to add to our delivery dates!:( The boat was supposed to go through the Suez Canal and then continue on to Europe via the Med. Perhaps that's what the delay is in us not recieving our delivery date letters now. RX-Late, plaese fix your tracking software. Some of us do use this as a sort of yardstick for delivery. (Very Sad I know);) Lucozade 09-29-2003, 12:54 PM the webpage is not available anymore. Has it been moved? Titanium Grey 09-29-2003, 03:05 PM I believe RX-Late is on holiday at the moment. MarkW 10-11-2003, 11:52 AM Oh my god! It seems we have a problem. The ship appears to be off the north coast of Alaska, somewhere in the Arctic Circle acording to the latest map!! RX-Late 10-12-2003, 09:02 AM Map fixed. |
