Did you get a CEL, and if so, what was/were the code(s)?
were there symptoms (ie power loss) in addition to the CEL?

View Full Version : Those who have had a clogged cat . . . . RX8Maine 02-03-2007, 02:06 PM Did you get a CEL, and if so, what was/were the code(s)? were there symptoms (ie power loss) in addition to the CEL? Wilson 02-03-2007, 02:13 PM For the typical "Clogged Cat", you have several methods to cure it. A laxative may work well. You may need to resort to an enema. Sometimes, you just have to stick a finger in there and dig it out. alnielsen 02-03-2007, 10:20 PM I had 3 cats replaced, under warrenty, until my engine was replaced Aug 05. No problems since. savedsol 07-10-2007, 10:51 PM I'll be taking mine in soon. Just had the engine replaced and now when I step on it the passenger footwell gets retardedly hot. Normal driving it's ok. It wasn't like this before and when the old engine bit it I had white (coolant) sitting in my exhaust tips. I can only imagine my cat is gone - 32K miles. alnielsen 07-10-2007, 10:58 PM Since my last post, I have had one more replaced. savedsol 07-11-2007, 06:50 AM Wow, that's $4200 + labor they've eaten. Yikes. Still going to Wikins? Do my problems seem familiar to the bad cats you've had? alnielsen 07-11-2007, 07:19 AM Wow, that's $4200 + labor they've eaten. Yikes. Still going to Wikins? Do my problems seem familiar to the bad cats you've had? Yes I'm never in the passenger seat and typically, no one else sits there. So, if it did heat up, I wouldn't know. savedsol 07-11-2007, 09:10 AM Love the new signature. Who do you deal with as your service rep? PM if you'd like. dmp 07-11-2007, 09:41 AM symptoms only for me - both times I've had it replaced. |
