I have a set of 18x7.5" RAYS g-Games +42 offest with 215/35 tires. I know the tires would not be wide enough for the RX-8, but would the rims be ok for fitment with wider tires? I believe the stock rim size is 18x8.

hmmm not sure about the caliper clearance...

I'm running volks that are 18x7.5 and the offset is +42. The fitment on the rims are ok. there is enough caliper clearance so you should be fine.

Im running 225/40/18 on them.

it will clear the caliper no problem and you should be able to run 225/45/18 no problem!

Sweeeeeet! She sure is going to look funny though when I test fit with the 215/35 tires. I'm expecting huge wheel gap.
