I just read on F1-Live that the Canadian Grand Prix has been left off the 2004 schedule. That sucks!! I love going to that race. Now I'll just have to go to the USGP with all the redneck NASCAR fans!!! NO!!!!!
Well at least they have the Grand Prix of Bahrain.

Redneck NASCAR fans? Man, when are we going to get that big fence built between the US and Canada?

i,m from Mtl, haven't miss a race in 10 years... (except in 2000 when on my way to the track on my motorcyclei was rear ended by a SOB without even a drivers license ) IT SUCKS big time that because of a STUPID anti tobacco law we will loose our GP ! It's one of the 2 or 3 best GP on the planet says every mechanic from every team....
I HATE BERNIE Eclestone

While I have no particular love for Mr Eccle$tone, it's really the Canadian Government that you should be railling against, not Bernie. Spa will be returning to the F1 calendar next year if the tobacco sponsorship legislation is resolved; no doubt Canada would be welcome back for '05 if they do likewise.
I'd just as soon see tobacco products outlawed altogether, but until governments grow the balls to outlaw the products, banning their advertising is an exercise in hypocrisy.

as much as i agree with you on the ban and all that i must disagree with your statement that it's the Gov. fault . We have had a tobacco law since 1897 and F1 has known for 7 years that the law would aply to them in 2004. Furthermore, France and GB have similar laws and are running without any tobacco advertisement for many years now. Even more frustrated is that Turkey may very well have a GP in 2005 with laws that are even worst (or better) then ours.
The problem is STRICKLY money for Bernie. If we had choked up 20 or 30 million more $$ the GP would still be on. He had a contract with Mtl valid for another year but there was this clause about cigs. He opted out his best GP after Australia.
