Dammit it's still over $2.65 a gallon around here! Feels like a kick in the nuts with the lingering prices locally :balls:

2.69 for hi test and dropping in Morro Bay - Crude at low of $50 or less per barrel, glut of crude at refineries blamed. OPEC to reduce production. Current bottom estimated at $2.25 per gallon - but it could return to older prices as market manipulation may have been at the root of some of the cost...Depends on Mid-east devlopments - better root for our team!

I have to get gas today on my way to work. Yesterday the prices for premium that I saw ranged from $2.79 to $2.81.

$2.39 here for premium at Texaco, which is = Shell...Kangaroo (yes) you read that right.......lol is 2.01, and thats the cheapest I've seen in N AL.

Texaco is Shell? That doesn't make sense since the oil company is now ChevronTexaco and around here several of the Texaco stations advertise now "Texaco with Techron" which is Chevron's trademarked additive. :dunno:

shell gas and texaco gas are comparable in quality.

BunnyGirl

Well, that I was aware of. I only get gas at Chevron (which also now includes Texaco) or Shell. I must have misread that to mean that they were the same company. :dunno:

Recent return to 'global cooling' (winter) is causing increased use heating oil - causing joy to merchants and refineries - this may begin to push gas prices back up...(sure hope not!)

Yesterday, $1.89 for regular unleaded at the most expensive Shell station I pass every day. Saw some of the cheaper brands and other locations in the $1.70's. I honestly never thought prices would get much below $2 again, so I'm not complaining.

I found one location this morning that has regular for $1.81, premium for $1.91 and supreme for $2.01. That's by far the lowest around here.
