Hi everybody,

As part of my decision making process, I would like to dyno my own car to see what it is producing. I'm hoping to see at least 200 at the wheels so that I can confirm Mazda's new stated HP.

Anyway, anybody have any suggestions as to where would be the best place to take our RX-8s for a reliable test?

Thanks for any suggestions! :)

You shouldn't dyno your RX-8 until is is past the recommended break-in period, and even then you really shouldn't dyno it until you have 4000-6000 miles on the car. Also keep in mind different dynos, i.e. dyno jets, mustang dynos, roto dynos, will all yield significantly different numbers. If you dyno on a dynojet, I wouldn't expect 200, you will probably be more around 175-180 and getting closer to 190 the more miles you have on your car. You can try intec racing, http://www.intecracing.com, they are 40$ for 2 runs +15$ for wideband hookup, they are based in Kent.

Well, if one should wait until 4000+ miles, then I'll not be able to get my own car tested before Oct. 1, when the Mazda offer expires. Hmmm, hopefully others out there are providing good information.

Hey vix8, just noticed you are in Redmond. That makes 3 of us (that I know of) in the area. I'm on the Plateau. We should go rally :)
