Ugh, I don't know what the hell happened yesterday, but what started out with a super sore throat turned into dizzyness and wanting to puke by the early morning.

I did take some Comtrex last night just to be safe if I were in the midst of coming down with a cold... and around 5 a.m. I woke up feeling super dizzy and nauseous. My head was spinning, it felt like my stomach was basically eating itself... gah. Really bad. I tried to go to sleep, but I just couldn't do it. All that was going through my head was "I feel like I need to throw up..." and just by thinking that, I almost did.

So I don't know what's to blame. I ate Chinese food yesterday... possible food poisioning? It's not the first time I've gone to this place, but it's a possibility. Is it due to the Comtrex? Somehow it doesn't mesh well with me? Or is it possible that by 5 a.m. everything that I had ate earlier in the night was digested and now the medicine was making me sick and loopy because the medicine must be taken with food in the stomach? I don't know! :(

I'm still feeling the after affects... managed to wake up around 11:30 a.m. feeling decent. I still have this weird feeling in my gut though... kind of still feel loopy too. I'm drinking some hot peppermint tea because I've heard it's good for tummy aches and such.

Anyone else gone through something like this? Tell me what's the cause of it! And maybe some suggestions to make my head stop spinning! :(

Peppermint is very good at settling the stomach.

Dizzyness is a little concerning. If that's continuing it's prlly worth a trip to the Dr. Otherwise, prlly just flu.

Comtrex might be a little harsh on your system. You might want to try something more gentle like Tylenol cold and flu. To date that is one of the safest and most gentle products on the market

Edit: Try ginger ale too to help the stomach settle down

Sounds like you got a bug - most food poisonings don't make sore throats - but some sore throat bugs are so poison they can make you toss. Tossing takes a lot of work, but if you need to just it go. And, a tums afterward will get rid of some of the acid...

If you have a fever its most probably some sort of strep, if you have a high fever (102) see your doc ASAP - low fever - try something that will dry up the flow (which you have done) gargle with warm salt water and lemon juice or what ever you have that's sour - it keeps the bug from breeding. Prepare for a cold - zinc can slow it down, chicken soup can actually help!

If you have no fever or your temperature drops - watch for a flu - same as for a cold vitamin C, salt gargles - but throw in some shitaki mushrooms in your chicken soup - they can help your immune system make an antiviral called interferon...

And let these guys make you laugh - it releases endorphins and helps the immune system..

not food poisoning, i had that before. if it was u would have puked already and started pooping black water. sounds like some kinda flu. u should go see a doc. its better then any of the e-diagnosis you gonna get here missy. drink lots of fluids, if ur tummy still feels crappy try drinking allot of gateraid. you prolly don't wanna eat anything other chicken noodle soup right now. hope u get better soon, the leg humpers are all wishing u a quick recovery.
