Well in another post I made mention how I finaly got fed up and brought my baby into the local dealership and handed over to them a list of problems. Some were major others minor but overall I've mostly been putting them off due to one thing or another. Thing was as opposed to the previous times was I printed up some TSB's as to make sure they knew what I was talking about and fixed it correctly.

One problem was my motor mounts. I always kinda shrugged off the slight vibration as a thing of the Rotary Engine, but the past month or so (since it got cold really) the slight vibration has turned into constant and very annoying vibration. At times the vibration shook my seat so much it started to hurt my back durring some drives (was in a accident in April and hurt my back), that and while it was that bad you could litteraly hear the vibration inside the cabin.

Another problem was the oil froth and oil overspil into the air intake. Recently the dealer overfilled my oil and it spilt into my air intake, I got a new air filter and they cleaned my intake system. Sadly they didnt put enough oil after they did a proper oil change (yeah right), as I had a reapearing "low oil" light going off after a few long drives. I checked my dipstick and it was covered in that froth I tried redipping and cleaning the stick but it was like a unending supply.

So far since getting the car back I must say the car feels like it has a bit more power to her and the vibration is still there but its ever so faint now unlike before where if I wanted a violent massage I could just turn my car on and sit in the drivers seat for 10min's. The oil evac line job looks very shoddy so I'm going to be keeping my eye on it for any leaks or if the plastic hose's are slipping.

just so u kno...."engine vibration" is not a thing of the rotary engine. and there was a flash for cars having low oil lights in the mid rpm range so that might have been the oil light prob u speak of even after gettin an oil change, just a theory

other than that....um, congrats on taking ur car to a dealer to have a problem fixed?

i dont kno where u guys r goin to get such crappy service with such rookie mistakes (not enuff oil after oil change etc etc etc)

 

the dip stick problem is caused by you not warming up the car effeciently before you take off.

It happens to all cars. I see it on the Buick under the oil cap when I remove it.

 

Really? I thought you aren't supposed to idle your engine for to long to warm because then it take longer for it to warm up. I think it even says something to that effect in the manual.

 

are your tires original or after market, reason is if they have not been balanced correctly vibration could be the result of an incorrect balancing...just a thought....

I couldnt snag a picture of the new motor mounts 'cause I dont have a lift which sucks but I peeked down there a bit and the mounts (or the peice's I could see) and they looked fairly new.

 

I hear ya on that thought but the vibration is only thought but the vibration isnt felt that hard atleast while driving. Only durring a full stop does the vibration really start to occur. Though I might look into balancing the tires at a local shop (dont trust the dealer to do it.)

 

LOL! I acquired a loose spark plug while getting my oil changed last time (by a new employee). I also acquired that ethanol evapoization clutch problem. By the time I figured that clutch thing out for sure as all my symptoms, it was resolving and another dealership told me that the "freeze" had worked itself out and everything should go back to normal. Sure enough, car is fine.

 

is your car automatic ?
coz my vw do that too, but as long as i put it at " N " when i fully stopped it wont vibrat.
so could be the auto gear box if it is an automatic
