What oil comes with factory shipped rx-8 (dino/synthetic)
Its time for me to add some oil and I was looking at the forum, people are talking about 5W-20, 5W-30, mineral, synthetic ect.. ,but nothing conclusive. Any help is appreciated.

Use Castrol GTX 5W20

The rules specify that the company can only claim the fuel economy benefits of 5W20 if it is the factory fill, so we can safely assume that it is.

Idemitsu is the largest oil refiner in Japan, and supplies Mazda with it's racing blends - ergo they probably make the original fill, but that is just an educated guess.

I second that - I've been using Castrol GTX for 2 years now and only have to add a quart of oil every 6-8 weeks; and that's not babying the car either :evil_laug

Castrol GTX is good never had problems, make sure its 5w20 or your car will be pinging like a network card :D sorry that was a geek joke

+1 for Castrol GTX 5W20 ... and the best thing is its DIRT cheap as well! I always purchase 2-3 4.4L jugs when they go onsale for around $10-12!

Castrol GTX for me as well (since my maintenance package expired and I stopped having a dealership do the oil changes.)

As a side note, does anybody know of any Idemitsu suppliers in Canada? I couldn't find anything on their website.
I'd like to start running their oil and premix in my race Rx-7.
