i saw the rx8 commercial on tv when i was watching the raiders game on espn is a cool commercial. so far they showed 4 different commercial if you want to see then turn on espn now.

Just saw TV commercial for the 8 during Sunday Night Football.

Starts with a guy drooling over the car, then he hugs it, and it hugs him back...

I watched the American LeMans Series race today from Laguna Seca. I saw 3 Mazda commercial pairings during that race. Pairings? Yes. They are shown in two halves, separated by some other non-Mazda commercial.

The first one shows a cool video of a rotor in a chamber "under glass". It starts spinning slowly, so you can see how it moves, then it gets faster and faster until it's a "blur". The guy says something like "Introducing the new Mazda Renesis rotary engine that comes in the new RX-8." or something to that effect. Then, that's it. End of commercial.

Then some other commercial is shown.

Then, another RX-8 commercial comes on showing the car. I am pretty sure that of the 3 times I saw it, all 3 of this second "half" are different! The third time was the "hugging", have you hugged your car lately? The guy is standing on the side with the double doors open, being affectionate with his 8, then the camera pans-out & the double doors gently close as if the 8 is hugging him back. The other 2 were more typical car commercials, RX-8 tearing up a country road (velocity red, of course), but they were different. It's kind of fast & I was blown away by seeing them for the first time, so sorry. Can't provide any more details.

The race was sponsored in part by Mazda.

Looks like the big promotional push has hereby begun...

the commercial I seen was all 3 of them put together, and it was during the Laguna seca race. They showed the motor running, then the car flying around bends, then the dude hugging his car at the end of it

Just watch any NFL football game on ESPN. They must have shown the commercials 5 times each during last nights Titans/Raiders game. I would expect next Sunday evenings game to be the same.

Might want to check out Monday Night Football tonight as well. I'm sure thats the best time for marketing this car. Probably won't be on as much due to the much higher cost of air time.
