It works great, water beads off by itself.. At faster speeds I don't even have to use the wipers sometimes.. But I think it does leave a film on the wipers.. So you might have to clean them once in a while. Takumi 10-22-2002, 12:09 AM cool how's it work against snow ? Hercules 10-22-2002, 12:21 AM Originally posted by Takumi cool how's it work against snow ? The way it would work on melted snow :) It's useless to actually battle snow itself, but if it's wet it will slide right off. Keep that defroster on! :) And to clean your wipers a good amount Windex WITH ammonia or rubbing alcohol will do. Jerome81 10-22-2002, 01:32 AM Great in snowy weather.... The muck and slush that would have you grabbing the sprayers every minute or two just slides right off. As far as keeping the defrosters on, keep your eye on that one. I think actually if you can keep yourself warm, while keeping the heat off the windshield, the snow won't actually have time to hit the windshield and melt, but will instead just bounce right off. Kinda nice as it doesn't ice up your wipers. Takumi 10-22-2002, 07:53 AM going to get raix after work today =D red_base 95 10-22-2002, 08:44 AM Just be sure to follow the directions carefully and you'll get great results. Takumi 10-22-2002, 08:00 PM works great i followed directions only one diudnt follow was the apply in 40 degree weather i apllied in 35 degrees Takumi 10-24-2002, 10:14 PM do u guy sput rainx on all ur windows? Hercules 10-25-2002, 12:07 AM Originally posted by Takumi do u guy sput rainx on all ur windows? Yup. Quick_lude 10-25-2002, 09:32 AM Yes, the side windows are much more important to treat than the windshield imo. No wipers on them and the water has to bead off by itself. irresistibo 10-26-2002, 12:29 AM rainx is great, alot of work to apply properly though. I get kinda light headed when i apply it because of all the work and the vapors. It works on the side windows too, ive done all my windows at one point, but the windshield takes alot of abuse and builds up more gunk than any other window, thats why you use it on the windshield. It cleans off all the gunk and fills in microscopic scratches that happens to the windshield, wipers make the problem worse. Quick_lude 10-26-2002, 10:36 AM A alot of work? It takes me 10-20 min, depending if I do one or two coats. Yes, do it outside.. the fumes.. :) Takumi 10-26-2002, 02:27 PM how about mirrors ? should work on that ? or is it not worth it Takumi 10-26-2002, 02:33 PM anyone wax their cars with rainx car wax? fuz 10-26-2002, 04:02 PM Originally posted by Takumi how about mirrors ? should work on that ? or is it not worth it Yes, it works on mirrors. I find it better than nothing. I put on my headlights too. :D I do not use RainX car wax. All marketing hype it seems. I use Zaino, Klasse, and Pinnacle Souveran on different cars, but nothing less. Quick_lude 10-27-2002, 02:41 PM I also use it on mirrors. Since I have heated mirrors, once they heat up the ice just slides right off. Basically use Rain-x on any glass surface. I'm not sure about plastic headlights housing.. Don't think the chemistry of the product will work on the plastic. For car wax I use Zaino. Easy to use and the results are great. fuz 10-27-2002, 05:41 PM Have glass headlights on the older mercedes which I used rain-x on. I have a 3M protective plastic film on my headlights, so I just zaino-ed it. |
