Is there a way to change the power assist steering? I find it too soft ie I prefer a little more resistance. Since this thing is supposed to be electric, I would think that it could be modified fairly easily.

Very possibly - once the shop manual comes out and we have some documentation on the systems, I'm sure we'll see ways to hack it :).
