I have got 24.4k so far on my OEM Bridgestone tires (mainly from everyday city/highway driving). How long can I expect them to last before it starts to affect the grip performance?

 

25k should not be a prob for the oem tyres in my opinion. but if u are taking of changing, let me know where is cheap place hor. mine should be quite worn liao and i also thinking of changing.

 

Oh, I didn't know there was a misunderstanding on my question. I know at this point the tires are fine. i just wanted to know in other people's experiences (ie old timers) when this OEM tire starts to give out/up?

I normally expect tires to last till about 40k before replacing them but just don't know about these Bridgestones.

They have a wear rating of 140.

They should be pretty dangerous by 30,000km.

mine just hit 50k after 2 yrs plus of usage.... changing in this coming weekend.....

 

If u are a spirited driver, try not to use any tyres beyong 2 years cos by then, the compound will have harden and performance affected.

So with threadware of 140, I wont go beyong 35k.

Maybe you wanna take note, they give way without warning. Then again, mileage means nothing, depends on your driving style too.

X-Man: Wah... 50k in 2 years? I dint know Singapore was such a big island!! ;-) Anyway, I am on the same rate as you; will do 50k within 2 years on current usage pattern.

No point paying six figures for a car and in keeping the car nice & polished. I got big scrapes along teh wheel well and I have not got them re-sprayed yet. 3 months already. Need to check for rust soon.
Not worth showing up for friday meets.... then again my car will be unique with its dents, crack bumper etc. Will be a talking point at least!!

Think 2 yrs/50k is the max max, can feel the rubber getting hard. If u wanna push for that, do pay close attention to the condition & ur driving style ie slow during wet weather & dun push too hard. Cheers

try michelin PS2. using the 245/40/17. its a little under tire but seems more progressive and better control than AD07 (225/45/18, with stock rims). wet is better than AD07. well i'll swap back and forth and see how it goes.

 

Michelin PS2s are definitely one of the best if not the best tyres around. I feel they are superior to the AD07s and not just because of the extra width (245 vs 225). Better grip in dry and especially more so in wet and significantly less noise. Better wear and lighter too I think. Only thing bad about PS2s is it also makes your wallet significantly lighter, maybe by as much as 40-50% more than AD07s but if your wallet can withstand the hit, PS2s are definitely well worth it IMO.

 

Changed to Advan Sport, still running in... Its quiet compared to stock, grip feels confident in the rainy weather this couple of days but den again I am not pushing it as I am still running in.
