:soapbox:
If you go online at work and send PM's and I think emails too, it is now a law that the owner of the company and Business must save all this info for "the man" and I think its total bull shit! :boid:
Please dont turn this into a political thread. Lets talk about how this law is one more way for "the man" to invade our privacy
Mods if you feel this is a political thread just shuter down.

For jobs that have material or could supply materials that could cause harm or are in high security area's its a decent law. BUT.. for common jobs its a bit much and close to invasion of privacy. I do to a point agree with jobs tracking online usage since its the company's PC's and the company paying for the internet but to keep records is a bit much. Gotta luv our (censored) and his (censored) on (censored) that is allowing all this to happen claiming (censored) and if you dont agree with him your un(censored).

I think Dom's big beef is that "the man" could gain access to it for whatever purpose's. Sure it will have limitations but as always some will abuse it.

Dominion you should include links to mainstream sites when you make a post like this.
This involves companies subject to FEDERAL litigation and there isn’t “ A MAN “. If the company involved in the lawsuit were to somehow ‘ lose “ data relevant to a case that company would be subject to big fines. The ‘man’ is not involved in this matter. This is just another way for attorneys to make more money. This came about do to a Morgan Stanley case where their IT department didn’t have data relevant to the case and they were fined millions of dollars. This is an update to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure which will help other companies avoid fines like this. Bottom line is when using a PC that doesn’t belong to you ALWAYS assume someone is watching.
Goggle ‘E-Discovery Rules’ or ‘email+ Federal Rules of Civil Procedure’ for more info.
