View Full Version : Which Exhaust System puts out the most HP?
Hotrodcoupes 11-27-2006, 08:37 PM I plan on purchasing a new Exhaust system for my 04 RX. I tried searching with little success. A straight answer w/ some fast facts would be nice.
Which Exhaust is best, in high HP terms?
dannobre 11-27-2006, 08:42 PM Give or take 1-2HP they all make about the same.....
Or less :D:
Find one you like the sound of......it will be more satisfying than the power gains that you get ;)
dillsrotary 11-27-2006, 08:43 PM not sure which one will add the most(chances are all with be closely the same), but here's a pretty good list of them all.

+1. Buy an exhaust for the sound, not in anticipation of hp gains, and you'll be just fine.
Easy_E1 11-27-2006, 08:44 PM Swoope you beat me by 13 seconds,,,Darn you!
AlexCisneros 11-27-2006, 08:45 PM one post is enough with the same question.

Here are the facts... None of them will give you much horsepower so just chose the one you like the sound and looks of.

I find...........as you wish :): and Yes dear :D: much better.
Arguing with a woman is a lose/lose situation.....even if you win...you lose :)
So why argue.
Maybe that's why there are so many chippy dipheads on forums.....just a better way to be passive aggressive without pissing in your own bed
Hotrodcoupes 11-27-2006, 09:03 PM Ah, my wife is dead.

Hotrodcoupes 11-27-2006, 09:12 PM Man, you must really have some issues. Does it make you feel good to post pointless comments. I feel like I am AOL or something. Bugoff fat head.

That is how many of us feel after reading your questions. It really isn't much to ask that you look around the forum and search before asking something that has been asked a million times before. We even have threads that show what each exhaust costs, weights and sounds like.
I'll let you find the threads yourself though.
Many newbies to the forum go through this, even the older forum members ask stuff that has been asked before (I'm as guilty as anyone), so don't take this personally.
Hotrodcoupes 11-27-2006, 09:19 PM Thanks for all the USEFUL information guys. You all have been a great help. And watch out for that swoope and the ugly guy with the bag over his head. zenmoused 12-06-2006, 09:45 AM There's nothing quite like someone posting to get everyone else to do their research for them. And for your information, HotRodCoupes, we all drink swoope's beer daily here, and we got over the hepatitis long ago!
Skiptomylue 12-06-2006, 03:18 PM "dumpass". .
What the hell is a dumpass?
abbid 12-06-2006, 03:23 PM you guys are all newbs i swear!
the only exhaust that will give you good HP numbers is an exhaust with a turbo attached to it. other than that, you pay for sound and aesthetics..
FE9000 12-06-2006, 03:38 PM Well, while we are on the "exhaust" dicussion. I remember reading something like this while searching for info on exhaust.
---- We all know about this heated center cup holder "feature" on our loved RX8. I have learn to deal with and enjoying this feature very much in the winter. I have read a few post about going with aftermarket exhaust i.e. Mazdaspeed or Racing Beat, will alleviate a lot of heat. Is that true or just a joke?
RX-XSIV 12-06-2006, 03:41 PM well.. if u just get an exhaust such as a greddy sp2, or borla or racing beat or magnaflow etc.. they are all the same in terms of HP gains.. +-1/2 hp give or take u know? i go by looks and sound.. unless.. u were doing a full exhaust change.... downpipe, midpipe etc.. then u would see some nice gains..
abbid 12-06-2006, 03:43 PM nice gains = 4-5 WHP.
RB did tests on it..

no no no i was talking to jedi
LionZoo 12-06-2006, 10:09 PM Exhaust can affect performance, though it's mainly through weight savings.
FE9000 12-07-2006, 12:18 AM Oh ok thanks. So does anyone know if this is true? or a joke? I read this in other threads. Having an aftermarket exhaust like Mazdaspeed or Racing Beat etc... will alleviate a lot of the heat in the center cup holder?

zenmoused 12-07-2006, 12:23 AM Yeah if you want to make your cup holders less hot, put some synthetic lube in your transmission. Cools it down quite a bit.
