Miker 11-26-2006, 06:53 PM Zach's mother, Pearl Friedlis, echoes this sentiment. "We bought our children high-end vehicles because we wanted them to be safe," she said.
No, you bought them because you're fame whores who want the attention to trickle down. God help the neighbours seeing your kids in affordable sub-compacts.
terrypk1 11-26-2006, 08:04 PM yeah exctaly. i agree. i was reading this crap.

high end car has nothing to do with satety. a toyota yaris is rated 4 stars crush test.
MTLbroker 11-27-2006, 04:59 PM I buy that argument. In general, most of these cars are equipped with multiple airbags, ASC, ABS, DSC, TCS, whatever.....
And if you have the resources, why not?
StewyRX8 11-27-2006, 10:32 PM RX8 = good! I'm young & I love my rx8. And I pay for it myself unfortunatley. Its good to see it get some recognition though...
mysql101 11-27-2006, 10:35 PM #10 is the H3, so I'm not sure that list is worth much.

Not to mention Hummers generally look like they've been hit....no beat down by an ugly stick. I also remember reading somewhere that Hummers generally aren't any safer than other cars (and cost a fortune to fix).

a Yaris' 4-star rating is different from a, say, a S40's 4-star rating
Magsz 11-28-2006, 06:32 PM Hummers are considered safer than other cars out on the road because they generally crush whatever they hit. Either that or their ride height is so damned high that they simply run over whatever they hit or are hit by.

Hahahaha nice. People need to realize these Hummers aren't the same ones that the military rides out in the desert. They definitely don't stand up to punishment that well.
Magsz 11-28-2006, 08:33 PM I was being massively sarcastic. :)

H1 = 100k+
H2 = 100k/2 = 50k
H3 = 100k/3 = 33k
Or maybe it's the % of a normal brain the owner retains.

That's actually not a bad theory lol

If you think the ones the military owns are safe you're only fooling yourself - they're garbage - both in safety and reliability.
And while the added armor protects occupants from gun fire and some IED's, the added weight makes the HMWWV extremely slow and prone to overheating and breakdowns in the most inoppertune times (like when you're being attacked) - even more so.
Yup, American taxdollars at work.

Did I say military Hummers are safe and reliable? I'm just saying the consumer version isn't as good as the military one.
