I guess that of the 65 views nobody really gives a sh*t about this thread....:D LOL Is it because nobody believes me?:D Or is it that I am not the popular one here on the board?:)

ninedeep
09-04-2003, 07:34 PM
Hahaha:p Im glad you care! I just thought I would share a positive experience here just because everything here on this board is all about the HP issues...the negative stuff. TMO.:( I will have pics within 2 hours for everyone to see. Im at work and Evolution and D&V autobody are giving me the play by play details. The front bumper is on and they said it was very easy to do. Next is the side skirts and then the rear diffuser. No spoiler because im not that much of a fan of the big spoilers. Thats all I have at this moment. I will be back with more info around 10pm eastern time.

Thanks mikeb for keeping the faith. :)

Car looks awesome!!! Does the MazdaSpeed body kit already come painted to your cars specific color or do you need to have it painted by a body shop and then put on? Thanks in advance for your help.

Also what is the cost for kit plus install?

You do have to specify the paint code when you order it because it does come pre-painted. The install was done by D&V Autobody but there was no charge because they are sponsoring my car. We ordered the kit 3 weeks ago and thanks to Evolution, they pulled money out of there own pockets to have it shipped faster in order to have it here first and ready for HIN tom. I have now lost track of how much this kit cost overall.

Don't do it! It looks perfect as is. This is my favorite body config for the 8 so far. MS sideskirts and nose, and 1-2 inch drop (also with eyebrows). Very sinister looking. The wing adds apparent height to the image, and in my opinion doesn't look as slick. I say this, because you seem to prefer this also, and I'd hate for you to add a wing if you don't even care for it.

Beautiful job ninedeep!

- Is it Silver or Titanium?
- How much does it cost? Can you please list all the components of the kit? Are the wheels part of it or seperate?
- Is it dropped or regular height?

EDIT:
OK, saw your sig. So it is Titanium, with 19" volks not part of the kit.

if not wrong, those volks are the latest GT7, ordered them for myself as well, my rims are already here but still at the ports pending custom clearing for almost a week now, heard that they are really strict nowadays due to recent bombing around the world

looking at those pictures, I know now that I had not made the wrong decision!!!! cant wait to get my hands on them now.

Look at the pics; that guy in the tan shirt is the the rx willy-style witnessing history in the making.

The car is hot, the body kit comes two-toned, and the wheels look a lot better in person. Even though the car looks hot in the pics, like the original, they do not do the car it's justice. I believe this is the hottest car I may have ever seen in person.

Next step will be lowering the car, (according to the owner) to put the final bling bling on it.

If you want to see it it will be at the car show in baltimore today. 9.5.03.

I read previously that there is a new mounting bracket included with the bumper cover, but they have chosen to not install it here.

Yeah, the fogs are gone. And no front tag bracket!

Gorgeous! Nice job with the wheel and kit choice!

Can you enlighten us on the size and offset of the front and rear GT7s?

19x? +35?

Thanks!

You have to get the spoiler it is so cool!! I think it is the best part of the package.

ninedeep
09-07-2003, 12:04 PM
I hope I dont leave any questions out but I will try to answer them all.....

The cost of the kit was somewhere in the 5k range. Like I said before I lost track after all of the shipping fees that we added on to get it here faster.

There are preset holes in the bumper, up under the lip, right infront of the grill for the front tag. I hate front tags!!!!!!!Virginia sucks with that law!!!!

The offset on the wheels are 46 in the front 36 in the rear.

Sorry if I left any body out!

Maximus

Where is the front Mazda emblem ?

ninedeep
09-08-2003, 08:11 AM
There is no Mazda logo on the front.....If somebody wants one there, they are gonna have to measure it and tap the holes themselves:eek: I dont know if i am gonna do that just yet.

If someone is considering an RX8 Grand Touring with Appearance package (approx $) BUT is also interested in the Mazdaspeed kit (cost approx $5000) ...... dont wanna pay toooo much .... you got two options:

Option #1:
--------------
RX8 Grand Touring with appearance package
= $32,070

Option #2:
--------------
RX Sport Package + Mazdaspeed kit
= $28,300 + $5000
= $33,300
(also, at the cost of not having leather seats, Bose, Homelink, moonroof)

Which would you choose?

ninedeep
09-08-2003, 01:27 PM
Personally I chose the 1GT package. I left my convertable for this so I had to atleast have a moonroof and ofcourse leather.

danielk015
09-08-2003, 01:30 PM
yeah, i would prefer the GT, just skip the appearance stuff, save a G or two, and spend a litlte more for the kit... the touring at the very least to grab the sunroof

yes this WAS a Protege meet, but I'm gonna bring my RX-7 to the meet, and there'll be a couple Miatas there as well, so we might as well have a few 8's to complete the lineup ;)

we may even go out for a drive afterward!

MrWigggles

What size rim is on the front and the back.

I am guessing 8.5" on the front and 9" on the back?

If you could read off the tire size that would be helpful as well. It looks like 245's or 255's on the rear.

I am also assuming that you don't have any rubbing. Did you have to "tuck your fenders" to do that?

Thanks, in advance.

-Mr. Wigggles

ninedeep
09-11-2003, 10:55 AM
The rear is 9 1/2 and the tire size is 275 in the rear. The front is 8 1/2 and the tire size is 235.

Most likley we will roll the fenders after the suspension is on.
I looked at the fenders and they seem like it wouldnt be to much of a hassle to do that.
