Given the HP issue, not the 247 issue but the fact that it may not be 238 issue, shoud I pay for a fully loaded 6MT.
How much over IVC or under MSRP as I don't believe it is worth the MSRP.
Also, please take into consideration fuel consumption and the time it has speant at the dealer to have it checked for first year quirks.

I was thinking the samething, i was actually gonna buy one a couple weeks back but then mazda acknowledge the HP issue so i decided to hold off. i'm plannning on buy: Winning Blue, 6MT, Sprt Pkg, Appearnce Pkg, Rear Spoiler MSRP on it is 29,625. Thats within my price range but the dealers here in vegas have over 100, 8's just sitting in their holding pens cause they refuse to bargain.

Well the longer you wait, the greater the demand will grow and the car will go down in price. Supply vs. demand will be a greater cause for the price to go down than this HP issue.
Don't buy at MSRP. Once inventories grow, there will be greater need to "move" the cars out of the lots and into the owner's hands...
My advise to you is just wait for the 2005 model. The year is almost over and I suspect the will come out with an improved version with better ECU programming rather than the crap job they did with the 04's. That's why I'm getting average 15 miles per gallon. I have to fill up every 200 miles (not kidding!), and this is *regular* daily commuting...
We all know how many problems this car has already. While I love the car, I have been thinking alot about returning it for the next improved model...

I think you meant to say the lesser the demand, the price will go down. Or you might have meant the greater the supply (inventory), along with a decreased demand, then the car price will go down. Either way, the truth is the greater the demand for the car, and the go should go for MSRP or greater.
You are right in your statement Supply vs. Demand is the greatest cause for a price decrease. More supply & less demand and the price will lower.

The 2005 model should not be out till next Sept/Oct of 2004. I don't think they'll come out with a 2004.5 model before then. So that may be a long time to wait for some.
