Any fellow Scots may be interested to know that Taggarts Mazda in Motherwell have an 8 for test drives on (or around!) the 26th September.

I'm just off the phone and pre-order customers are getting priority. Not being a pre-order customer (yet!) I'm having to wait to see if I can get a test drive or will be limited to just being able to have a look at the car, so finger crossed! :D

Sales guy was quite frank - 8 pre-orders at the dealership so far, no discounts will be discussed (surprise!), futher demos not available until later in October when the dealership demo car(s) arrive.
He also said that the pre production 8's will then be recalled to Japan and crushed! :eek:

Oh and If I order now, I'll be likely to get my car in January.

You have a great dealer - The norm seems to be that those who have not yet ordered are getting priority over those who have waited months -

As is much discussed - I suppose this is understandable , as they already have 1 sale , use the test drives to try get another one.

Either way - Well done to your dealer for thinking customer service over new sales.
