I got my HD-DVD drive yesterday and man, it's pretty nice. :)
I picked up U-571, V for Vendetta, Full Metal Jacket and King Kong.
My girlfriend isn't much of a tech nut or anything but she definitely noticed a difference and was impressed by the picture quality. :)
So who else has gone HD?

Not sure which standard to go with. i hate it when they come out with 2 standards at the same time.
I'm going to be in the market for a new reciever here shortly, so I was wondering what are the audio formats that are used by HD-DVD and blu-ray?

Both support the same formats: Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, DTS-ES.

I'm not a fan of the PS3 - 600 bucks? fuck that, even though it comes with a blue ray player. I'm not a fan of Sony as a company.
I played on the PS3 at best buy and wasn't impressed at all - I don't own a HD-LCD or plasma, all i have is my 24" HD Dell Widescreen LCD with Component inputs. Gears of War on my 360 looks beautiful.
I known you guys dont care about my whole view on this, but I live in a hotel for work... I don't have my own home theater like I want to have, so there is no sense in buying the HD or Blue-Ray tech now.
I think PS3 came to the game too little too late, its overpriced, and there isnt anything on it that I'm DYING to play. the only positive thing I can say about the PS3 is that for 600 dollars getting a blue ray player is a helluva deal seeing as how the cheapest one I saw was 999.99 at best buy standalone.
Either way - its too early to jump on either side of the fence that sepeartes blue ray and HD-DVD. Hell I just download all my movies off of bit torrent anyways haha.
