That's a very flattering review. I don't agree about all the low-end torque…

"…Even without using the upper half of its rev band, the RX-8 has no difficulty in providing spirited performance thanks to the production of strong, low-end torque. The presence of abundant low-end pulling power minimizes the need to repeatedly gear-down when wishing to reposition oneself in traffic."

…and I don't find the car to be especially noisy. (And I hate when people say "utilize" instead of "use". Who teaches these people to write?) But overall, he pretty much "gets" the car.

The far best article yet on the RX-8 it was time somebody know what he's talking about... :)

...But overall, he pretty much "gets" the car.So true! I liked this: "Mazda has paid close attention to the design, layout and build quality of the RX-8's premium-level cabin, making it an inspiring locale from which to form a bond with the road."

Yeah - he gets it. :)

Nice write up. I do wish the rear seats, at least one side, would fold down.

I guess he must be used to driving even more torqueless wonders to think our beloved RX-8 has enough down low.

"But hey, if you want outstanding fuel economy, park your "sports car dreams" and do your stylin in a Yaris."

Well said...
