Mazmart 11-10-2006, 05:42 PM I still haven't found a constant supply for these but will continue to search. The motorized unit runs $1000 vs $3000 from Mazda. They're just so hard to come by.
Paul.
ellvis 11-17-2006, 01:06 PM Good thing they are impossible to find.
LostAngel 11-19-2006, 09:10 AM I feel bad that mines still in the box paul sent me...in my closet...DAMNIT I NEED MONEY TO FINISH MY CARPC!! :P HOPEFULLY it will finally be done for christmas. :P
zenmoused 11-19-2006, 10:16 AM I'd be interested in a price on this as well, if there are any available. Just the motorized housing I think, as I'm doing touchscreen.
Stavesacre21 11-19-2006, 01:19 PM $1K JUST for the motarized unit? oh snap...

Yes, just $1K for the motorized part. Honestly, anything under $1,300 is good...especially for the PERFECT quality mazmart gives you. You will randomly see ones on ebay for $500 - $800...BUT...whoever took them out left pry GOUGES (ones that can be seen from 5 feet away on the fronts of the housings...i've seen one up close...and it would look like crap actually in the car. The one I got from Mazmart, was honestly in perfect condition...no scrapes/gouges in the product what-so-ever.

Kinda makes you wonder, these people must have been in quite a hurry to remove some of these gouged units. I wonder why.
PT.

I'm wondered that as well...At first you would think stolen...but i've seen some actual legit places with gouge marks everywhere.
Stavesacre21 11-20-2006, 07:42 AM ironically, under the circumstances of these prices, i'd say "gouge" is a fitting word.
i know how hard it can be to find OEM stuff at reasonable prices, which would prolly be why i'd just buy the option upfront rather than as an add on. less headache, less work, more money upfront.
To eveyone their own though. just my own opinion :)
lastly, mazmart IS reputable for good stuff. kudos to u guys.
LostAngel 11-20-2006, 08:03 AM I don't think mazmart gouges the price...everything i've ever had priced from mazmart is a lot less than brand new from mazda...and is in new product condition. I think the housing would be a lot less expensive if the OEM screen wasn't part of the housing...a lot of people don't like that they are paying for something, that they will end up taking apart and throwing away the screen.

Getting this system from Mazda as an option on the car is clearly the best way to go if you're buying a new car or used car for that matter. If you've got a used car for enough of a bargain and it didn't have items you wanted such as Nav that's one of the ways that we would be of assistance. Some of this stuff is ungodly expensive new (Part by part) and we unfortunately also have to pay an extra premium for cars with this type of equipment. I will continue to attempt to make it bearable. I actually don't have a choice since the market dictates it.
Thanks for your kind input.
Paul.
Aseras 11-20-2006, 10:32 AM well if someone just wants a hood I'd like the harness and just about everyting else ( gps unit, controller etc ). I've got a hood and a nav drive, but nothing else.

You can PM your response if necessary.

SBZRO 02-04-2007, 04:39 PM I know this thread is a little dead, but I'd be interested in the Navi as well and you're the guy to see Paul. I'm trying to hook up my old CarPC into my 8. I'd even take a beat up one if you have it for cheaper. Let me know.
