This subject came up in a different thread, so I wanted to through it out. Some of the RX7 guys run their spark plugs with out the spacers (little washer like things at the ends) so as to get the spark closer to the chamber with no apparant issue other than maybe plug life.

anyone here try that with either the RX7 or RX8 plugs? Do the spark plugs still clear?

it's not a washer, it's a crush-seal

Yes, and the issue would be to remove the spark plugs.

sorry, I don't quite follow you. You run with them removed and you say the only issue with doing so would be issues with removing them after installing them?

I run without the washer (seal), and I never have any issues with getting them out again.

That's good news RG but I bet you use that special thread grease.

I have a Question

Does any of you guys know the Part number for the 4 plugs washer/sealers ?

Cuz Im going to change the plugs myself soon. and I would like that number. Im going to stick with Factory plugs for now .... they aint thta bad anyway. Its a bit costly(20 bux a piece?) but still good I think

Aren't they attached to the plugs?

Oh cool, then I just buy the plugs, put some anti-seize on the thread, put it in with a tourqe wench, put the wires back, thats it ?

speaking of plugs.. i was having horrible problems with the Iridium plugs, and then bought a set of NGK Platinum's with the seal... from Mazsport. Works great.

They sell the plugs wth the spacers/seal... so maybe they can have more of an insight on the benefit of not having the plug closer in.
