It's a seecrit :D
Just kidding, somebody found them in the Pictures forum. I simply edited them for adding red circles! :D
danger 10-17-2002, 04:01 AM gahh.. i would really love a roll down window of some sort, instead of that pop out stuff.. reminds me of a van....
and its not much ventilatino for the rear passengers.
red_base 95 10-17-2002, 08:20 AM Based on these pics, there are a few other clarifications.
Two tone seats with body color inserts may be only available as an option. The all black looks very dark.
Looking closely at the dashboard cowl and guage cluster, it appears there are 3 large chrome trim rings. So perhaps they ditched the digital speedo?
The rear seats appear to offer good legroom. The guy standing there (or squatting) gives you a good sense of scale.
The controls on the driver's door appear to offer power mirror and window controls. Can anyone pick something else that might be there?
HottRodder 10-17-2002, 09:15 AM This must be the red mule that was at sevenstock. No?
A. Stereo or cruise control functions on the steering wheel
B. All leather seats. Based on r_b95's suggestion that the two tone may be an option, does this mean that cloth will be an option?
C. What's that riding on the floor board behind the drivers seat?

It looks like a car battery.
zoom44 10-17-2002, 11:10 AM battery providing power to the seat adjuster. at least it seems to be connected to something and that would be the closest thing
wakeech 10-17-2002, 12:00 PM considering that's a pretty large battery (which has obviously seen better days ;)), that amount of leg room DOES look comfortable!! :D i mean, i'm a pretty big guy at 6'2'', 220 lb. (all muscle and width... i have a hard time sharing seats on the bus without scrunching up the shoulders... ;)) and i fit comfortably into the back of a Toyota Echo, as long as the seat in front isn't ALL the way back... it's not room to stretch, but it's more than enough to sit in...
Hercules 10-17-2002, 12:14 PM At least we are getting the seats that are the same as the concept, very nice and hugging which I like for cornering :)
Also, the seatbelt is mounted to the door in the back, not on the seat itself.
Ahh, the setbelt on the door... I know the person behind me is going to open the door while I'm still strapped in... *_*
The car does seem as well loaded as anything in the entry luxury range.
snow_tires 10-17-2002, 01:45 PM That's easily solved as the rear doors won't open until the front opens.
just unclip before you open the front door.
Donny Boy 10-17-2002, 04:51 PM Thanks for the pics. Would be great if they really ditched the digital speedo. Love that car.

Can't say I mind that too much but I really wouldn't care one way or another.

Yea my friends already made the point that "Oh, it won't have THAT much legroom!" and I really didn't want to point out to them, that I wasn't going to be the one sitting back there so I really didn't care :)

irresistibo 10-17-2002, 06:51 PM all the pics are awesome. I hope we get all of that stuff in the car, great job!!

It could be hooked up to the laptop (?) on the passenger seat.
Grimace 10-17-2002, 07:54 PM By the way, there have always been 3 chrome rings in the cluster, so that doesn't indicate that the digital speedo is gone.

Hercules 10-17-2002, 09:45 PM I love seeing a 10,000RPM readout :D
red_base 95 10-18-2002, 09:24 AM By the way, chrome rings have not always been present

Of course those dials looks very much to be a illustration, not a photograph ... (I work in advertising and it's very comman to show artwork before the the product is actualy produced - there's usualy a disclamer that goes along with the TV &/or print ad: Actual product may vary in appearance.

Still, I hope that when the actual production model comes around it has more analog dials than warning lights... including an analog speedometer (with the digital one _ it could be a layer on the trip computer)
Hercules 10-18-2002, 01:39 PM Actually that *is* chrome around the gauges.
Take a closer look:

bwayout 10-18-2002, 04:56 PM Thanks for posting that detailed hi-res image. I've been hunting around for sometime wanted a more closer look that shows the dashboard/dials details!
Still, IMHO the colored numbers around the dials look retouched or enhanced "photoshop" illustrated ... and doesn't show those idiot warnning lights.
I can't wait for images to come back from Detroit! :D
cueball 10-18-2002, 07:01 PM It might just be me, but it looks like the front seats are thicker than earlier models. I remember one comment made by mazda was that they were able to create thin seats with the same support and comfort of regular seats. I guess this firsts ones either didn't hold up or were just not cost effective.
Grimace 10-18-2002, 07:10 PM Yeah, they're thicker. Probably for both the reasons you stated above, plus people percieve a thicker seat as more comfortable (although the best seats I've ever planted my posterior in where made of a fine mesh net).
Evolv 10-18-2002, 08:39 PM I hope those back pop-out windows are electiric, I hate having to rag on the kid to make sure its closed and locked after parking.........

I think when you get Bose, LSD, and so much else standard, that they'd throw in a motor and switch for the rear windows :)
Yeah, but I'll bet it doesn't come with floormats... ;)

I hope there is an option to get full rubber mats for like 70 bucks, because I'll be on them in a HEARTBEAT!
They better offer them! HEAR ME MAZDA?!?!?!?! :D
