Ever since I ordered my RX-8 I've been driving my 6 in a totally new way:
Red-lining to 7k RPM all the time
Doing 60+ MPH in second
shifting from 4th to 2nd all the time to overtake
never using 5th except over 70 on long trips
All-in-all she's been a real scream and has a lot of attributes similar to the 8:
Low torque, so lots of gear changes
Such a sweet, quiet, free-revving engine
A bit too much body-roll
4 doors (lol)
Much curvier than anything else of her age
Not many on the road, so I feel like I'm different
She's a babe, but doesn't quite have the street presence or ooomph of the 8, but she has served me well .... might just keep her as a spare :)
Any of you got cars that you'll be sad to lose?

hang on mate, theres no number plate. I bet the Camberley cops have great fun coming after you. From the driveway, I'd guess you lived out by the "french" school....or the dead posh part of camberley by the town... its certainly a "flat area"...

Renegade, don't forget its a Mazda number plate, so the letters and words will be delayed in getting onto the perspex. Its a mazda thing.:D

nice engine in the xedos 6, i should know, I have a j-spec version of the 2.0l V6 in my MX-6, I'm also glad to know that it's not just me who has undergone a recent change in driving style.
overtaking, oversteering, over revving, and listening to the stereo too damn loud.
for a car that i've treasured for the last five years i've suddenly started racking up extra miles at a tyre shredding rate.
what gives?

Nice car. Here's a question for all of you with cars to get rid of when the RX8 arrives ... "Do you think that your locala friendly Mazda garage is going to give you a good trade in on your old car?"

Hell no.
Gona bend over and take it on my trade in, unless I sell privatly.
Bottom dollar book price at best.

Thats what I thought. Already sold my car (using the wifes). Can't see many people getting very far haggling at the dealers ...
Customer: "Well, if you don't give me a another 300 quid for my car I'm going to walk away!".
Salesman: "Oh Really?"

I got quite a sweet deal from my dealer - When I placed the order for the RX8, I took a MX5 Harvard off him and he promissed to give me back the same as I paid less a bit of wear and tear as trade in on the 8. Just shows - he had no idea of all the delays that were going to happen either! Will have to see if he lives up to it.
Trouble is I really like the 5 now - wish I could afford to keep both.
