One of our customers sent me over Caz Buyer magazine with his RX-8 in it.It has an upgraded (bigger turbo and intercooler)SFR turbo system and some other stuff done to it.He generated 380ps.The magazine is written in Chinese so good luck reading it. It does mention us and various parts of the kit in English though :) Here is the link to it:

Wow, very nice. I would definately buy your kit if I had the money. Congratulations on another successful SFR kitted rx8. They aren't as common as I thought they would be when the kit came out initially. I notice they mention the Emanage Ultimate, I guess its working well for them sine its pushing 380ps.

Must have well over 400HP at the crank!, so the renesis is capable!

^^ what he said is so true. They have a VERY VERY strict rules in HK against automobiles modifications. If they see something funny, they pull u over, no questions asked. and go have ur car check.

On the Engine side of things, due to Japan's air pollution regulations, the old 13B turbo Rotary engine cannot make it thru the new emission standards. Mazda has to redesign a 1.3L 13B-MSP N/A engine for the Rx-8

but that would be next to nothing... well a big turbo like that will move alot more air even at that PSI

I think he ran 9 psi to generate the power.He says that he needs to do som more tuning in the email he sent me.But this car is going to be road raced.That was their main objective with the car.

380 @ 9psi doesn't sound a little TOO optimistic from a 60-1 to you? even if it had the highest flowing q-trim available (which i'm sure it doesn't).

We made 327WHP @ 9psi

with a 57trim comp wheel,smaller turbine wheel, smaller turbine housing and a smaller intercooler.380WHP is a bit of a stretch but I can tell you the 60-1 is a larger wheel then the 57 and we also went with a larger hotside and turbine trim for this set-up as well as a much larger Spearco intercooler so I think it is possible but we can not confirm this since we wont have the ability to dyno this car here in the states.Also tuning plays a key rols and this car was tuned on a higheroctane fuel then the 91 octane we used so that means they can be much more agreessive with the ignition timing and still keep it safe.

I put a link to the dyno chart in my previous post. This was done at the Dyno Shop in Santee on a Dyno Dynamics.There is no surging or any other issues with the 57.

i have no doubt it made the power, just at that boost level, it seems optimistic.

That guy in HK is talking BS. In the mag is talking about 380bhp and not 380whp, but, even in a 380bhp is impossible to make it without a fuel system upgrade and a 3" true exhuast. You can see clearly on the magazine, he is only used a 2" exhaust and with the HK emissions law, he is obligatory used a catalizer, so this guy talking he doing 380bhp is all :bsflag:

Last time i was there i got off the ferry and there was Masserati and a bmw 7series doing well over 100mph downa crowded street in Kowloon

and suddenly from out of the blue we have 335 on a conservative tuen with the sparks as the only thing to stop it....
this 380 has been beaten.

i wasn't knocking this kit at all. i'm sure it works great, but the #'s just seem a little TOO optimistic.

since when does a turbo rotary have a bsfc of .5 or less? that's one for the record books!

The magazine states 380ps not WHP, and also he has upgraded the injectors, 4 550cc, Walboro 255L/h fuel pump, no info on the exhaust.

Also 380ps is about 375hp. Ps is just German horsepower, it doesn't indicate whether it is wheel or brake. They probably mean brake (i.e. engine). Regardless, the guy is just guessing in the article.

Anyway, the title of this thread shouldn't be "380WHP" because it isn't accurate.
