View Full Version : Victorian National Attendes
Grizzly8 10-21-2006, 10:25 PM Guys need a lift from the Nationals back to Melbourne , prepared to share cost even pilot your ride if needed or wanted .
Nocty has been kind enough to get me and Adrian to the Nats from Goldcoast but i have decided it would be a good opportunity to continue my journey and visit family and friends in Melbourne for a week then fly back to the Goldcoast

auzoom 10-22-2006, 01:22 AM At this point I am unfortunately going to have a full car. It may change though.
MissyK 10-22-2006, 02:24 AM Shame, if i was going I'd definately give u a lift Michael

Its never too late to change your mind :) how come only 5 victorians are coming ?
Michael
MissyK 10-22-2006, 02:58 AM Takas wife is about to give birth
Joel cant take time off work
My car and Erics car will be away from us for that weekend and Erics in syd for his bday
Stuey doesnt have the rx8 anymore
umm thats 5.....
2 other RX8's will be where mine will be on the weekend.. so thats 7.. Few arent interested in track.. so lets say 9-10... add the 5 thats going, thats about 15 Victorians accounted for :) The rest probably have their reasons also.
Grizzly8 10-22-2006, 03:14 AM Actually its cheaper and faster for me to catch a flight from Canberra to Melbourne , only $65.00 :ylsuper:
Goulburn is only 1 hour from Canberra so if anyone is leaving early on the Tueday the 7th after the big breakfast and a sing along , cake for Hymees birthday maybe i can get a lift to Canberra or alternatively get a Bus / Taxi to the Airport . :)
Michael
Black-8 10-22-2006, 03:15 AM Mine hasn't even had 1000kms service yet, so I'm a bit reluctant to take it on the track. Besides, my parents will be here on that week, so have to accompany them.
auzoom 10-22-2006, 04:11 AM its about more than just tracking the car. Its about meeting people and learning about the car.
If anyone is interested but doesnt want to track, come as a non track participant. Cost is less but you still get all the goodies.
ohh and there is Glenn how is busy doing Hill Climb Championships in the FD at Bathurst.
Cheers
Andrew
yellowrx8inoz 10-22-2006, 04:57 AM I can give you a lift to Melbourne if you like, Michael.
Will
Grizzly8 10-22-2006, 05:40 AM Thanks Will for the offer :) and travelling in my favourite RX8 colour :ylsuper:

Yeah its a shame the hillclimb championship is on that weekend. I reckon I could have done the Victorians proud at Wakefield :mdrmed:
I still might drop in on the way home from Bathurst though. I would like to run the FD but I dont think I could get there early enough.
Glenn
Revolver 10-22-2006, 06:16 PM Would be great if you could Glenn.
I love the sound FD's make down the front straight at Wakefield...

Michael
is that all?
gees... i hope there will be more victorian attending the soon to be released "events" :cwm27:
auzoom 10-23-2006, 06:34 AM we have plenty EZZY;) Would have more on the track meets if a certain newly recruited Victorian would come down.
That aside, all going well in the next few weeks we will have a lot more going on next year, with a _lot_ more participants.

Will
auzoom 10-28-2006, 04:58 AM Hows 06:30 at the donnybrook Shell servo?
MissyK 10-28-2006, 04:59 AM donnybrook is dat really a place?? sounds like something from The Castle movie, like i didnt even think Bonnydoon was real place until gary told me hahahahahaha
takahashi 10-28-2006, 07:36 AM Donnybrook is really just an intersection on Hume Hwy haha
astro 10-28-2006, 07:38 AM It is the last petrol station to fill up on the good v-power fuel inside the Victorian border. :D:

Sounds good to me
Brewer 10-28-2006, 09:05 PM I will probably leave later as I probably need to drop into a pub near Albury for work and hence will not make the Goulburn Street event. I'll confirm later in week. Cheers Vic
jormatom 10-29-2006, 07:46 PM I'm driving up to Sydney on Friday so will meet you guys in Goulburn.
Looking forward to the Vics cruise home on Tuesday.
Cheers

Are you going to meet us at the NSW and QLD meet point on Sunday morning, and cruise to Goulburn with us?
jormatom 10-30-2006, 04:40 AM I will be wherever the NSW guys tell me to be.
I haven't heard from Mikeyr yet, but he is going to let me know what the arrangements for the day are.
Is the plan for the Qlders to meet up with the NSWelshmen and cruise to Goulburn together?

Yep.. Just like last year.. :ylsuper:
jormatom 10-30-2006, 09:36 AM Well you are going to have one Vicster joining you for the trip. :ylsuper:
xatnep 10-30-2006, 03:25 PM Sorry folks I will be leaving from BONNIE DOON and heading up via Shepparton's DECA drivers skidpan day for Mazda Car Club
Hopefully when I come off the track at wakefield I will be able to spin back on really quickly to keep my lap times down :scratchhe

Unless my senior NSW co-ordinator makes an alternative executive decision, we will be meeting same place as last year. I've posted directions in the Nats thread on .au (http://www.rx8club.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1640&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60) but Adrian has the GPS co-ordinates, etc.
Adrian, can you ensure all the Qlders know where it is please.
Mike, if you've got a different suggestion, speak now or forever hold your peace... :mdrmed:
BTW, we need to leave no later than 11.00 if we're to get there a little after midday to allow everyone to get sorted before heading into Goulburn, so any stragglers will have to make their own way to Wakefield. My mobile phone number is on the event document if you need to check anything.
auzoom 11-02-2006, 01:18 AM So who from Victoria will we be waiting for? So far just me and Will.
Revolver 11-02-2006, 01:44 AM Anyone know why Gomez isn't going this year?
'Mez, we'll miss you. :sadwavey:
AuZoom.. Leaving at 6:30.. When do you expect to get to Wakefield from Melbourne?
auzoom 11-02-2006, 03:40 AM 3ish? 7 hour straight drive from Donnybrook to Goulburn according to WhereIs. So add an hour for lunch and we should be there between 3 and 4.
Cheers
Andrew
Hmmm... That makes check in at Noon somewhat difficult.. Looks like we may have to do this differently..... I will think about it and call you...
Adrian
auzoom 11-02-2006, 04:07 AM Hmmm, OK my belief was that it was a 4pm arrival. That being said I am working late Saturday (instead of pulling out) and so need to get some semblance of sleep befor ethe drive.
Cheers

Sorry I was not suggesting that you try to get there early - I was thinking about how to organise things this end.. Do we really need to get to the meet point at 10am??? I am not sure that we have "control" of the site until after 4pm anyway..
MACCAA 11-02-2006, 08:02 AM If theQueensland guys are staying overnight in Walcha, they ain't gonna make the NSW meeting point unless they leave at about 4.30am.Couple this with the Victorian guys intended arrival, and maybe we need to modify things a bit.If we plan to go into Goulburn later we can make good use of the time at Wakefieldscrutineering anyone as they arrive, and demo-ing the Meguiars in the shade of say the Scrutineering bay.
Probably a good idea to advise whoever is organising the street closure in Goulburn to delay it a few hours-say around 4pm? This will still allow plenty of time in Goulburn before dinner, and allow us to do a lot at Wakefield, and everyone can clean their cars there before going into town.
What do you think,Adrian?
Cheers

yellowrx8inoz 11-02-2006, 08:15 AM Andrew,
See you Sunday 6:30am at donnybrook - I think it's just the 2 of us...

Excellent idea Len - I will ring them today..
Thanks

Revolver 11-02-2006, 05:55 PM I agree with Len on this one.
I was kinda wondering how we were going to kill 5 hours in Goulburn before dinner (the locals aren't going to be THAT interested).
You don't need to be at the meetup point until 11.00 really. We just said 10.30 so people would get there on time. Not sure where you got 10.00 from.
If we leave at 11.00, we'll get to Wakefield between 12.00 and 1.00, which will leave plenty of time to check in to accommodation, organise licences, scrutineer and wash cars (incl Meguiar's demo).
Hopefully, the Vics will arrive 3.00-3.30, which will give them a little time to get cleaned up and then we can roll into Goulburn as a group at 4.00-4.30.
BTW, everyone should remember to refuel in Goulburn while we're there, so you start the track day with a full tank. It's possible to go through a tank in a day on the track and even when it gets below a quarter you can experience fuel starvation problems. Goulburn has the usual variety of petrol stations scattered across the town, but I can't remember if there's a Shell (for the V-Power converts).
MACCAA 11-02-2006, 06:15 PM Yes there is a Shell.....
takahashi 11-02-2006, 06:38 PM There is a Shell
COLES EXPRESS GOULBURN CNR CLINTON ST & COWPER ST GOULBURN NSW

Cough cough.. I didn't make it on time - so the road will be cosed at 2pm and the whole town will be bursting with curiosity until 4pm... :)

Oh, fair enough. Best stick to the original plan then.
