i don't know if anything like this has been posted before, but here goes...
don't own an RX-8 yet because i can't afford one right now, but i definitely set my mind on getting one eventually. i was thinking i'll buy one once they come up with any kind of news on the next generation of RX-8 because i jus love the look of this one n also because it'll b cheaper then.
so the question i wanted to ask other RX-8 lovers is this: first off, do u guys think they'll even b another generation of RX-8; n second, if u think mazda will make another, what kinda changes do u think (or expect if you've heard even a rumor about it) will RX-8 go through?
thanks in advance

There will be a mazdaspeed one in 3ish years, with I'd guess 300bhp ( who knows).
As for stock RX-8, it'll get a make over in a couple of years like most models.
Bits of new trim, changed alloys, new colour etc. not a lot realy.
Now a 'real' 2nd gen RX-8 , who knows.
Mazda have to sell enough of them, and make enough cash to justify a next gen RX-7 first.
I believe Mazda(per ford) currently working on a 10 year platform cycle.

Now if the RX-8 sells well for the next 5 years, and the RX-7 comes out and also does good ...
:D
... I'd love to see the 2nd gen RX-8 evolve into more of the RX-Evolve - and what I mean by that is haveing the RX-8 become a true fastback + hatchback and get a little bigger cabin area for a much easer access into and out of the back seat with a larger trunk that will hold a spare tire and at least 4 golf bags ...
;)
... still keeping the 2n gen RX-8 a sports car but catering to what the RX-Evlove originaly was designed to interest - those of us who now have a family, but have no desire to get a small or large suv, station wagon or minivan!
That's what I'm dreaming will happen (in about the next 5 or 6 years)! That way the RX-7 (smaller and still only a 2-seater) and RX-8 (a true 2+2 maybe built on the 6's platform) will be able to be marketed without to much worry of overlaping or stealing any market share away from each other ...
:)
Anyone else share that dream?
Or maybe Mazda should add a rotary engine to the Mazda 6 line up?

I love that idea!
That last RX-7 was IMHO one of the best looking cars ever designed!
