I was going to start a very similar thread, but Eihort beat me to it. My name is Dan and i'm a proud new owner of an 06 galaxy gray mt. Just wanted to say hi to all. Hello especially to anyone in the Los Angeles (san fernando valley) area.

no burn outs yet for me.....peel outs here and there though. I just cant help it, i get in the pilots seat of this car and its instant-jackass.
I find myself going to redline for no reason what-so-ever (aside from the pure, unadulturated pleasure of 9000rpm). Thus far i've been relegated to the rush hour commute and have not had much chance to really go full-tilt, but cannot wait till i'm able to do some canyon carving.
The one night i was driving down benedict canyon/mulholland, it had rained, so after sliding the read end out on some turns, i decided it would be best NOT to total the car before the new-car smell went away. :chicken:

Naw. No burnouts here. I had a nice scary moment when I was test driving it where I hit an oil spot and fishtailed a few times. I'm transitioning from an 06 Accord with the inline 4 piddle motor. I have some bad muscle memory habits to break and learn how to finese the rotary engine. Still trying to adjust to much higher RPM than I'm used to.

Although my "jackass factor" has gone up a bit on the 215 now that I have the power to get around those pokey folks who don't know how to merge with traffic.

Hey whats up guys. I just got an 2004 Nordic Green RX8 recently, Still has the dealer tags on it.

She replaced the red cobalt I was driving. A few burnouts, and almost lost the rear end a few times from getting used to the car.

Nice to meet other rotary freaks. ;~) I have to say though that since I got this car, My crazy factor has increased, and I now have an attitude of irritation on those who impede my forward progress. My bf says I need to join a speed freaks annoymous help group. LOL

This place on S. Decator, if your going South on Decator its on the right, I think its called "soc cal auto club" or something you cant miss it its behind a wheel and tire shop and the only place in that square that will do car kits. Real big shop :)

I also a new owner of an RX-8, and shit lots of you guys are in my area. I'm on Charleston and Durango on the west side of town. I still got my temp tags on, but a very smooth ride indeed. Hope to see you guys around.

I see, well hopefully you will enjoy your new RX8, it sucks on gas compred to other imports, but it's very fun to drive. I don't know where GILBERT, is getting 20 miles on a gallon, I barely get around 10, maybe 13 if I slow down a little bit. But, you should of been informed on this before you purchased your RX8.

That sounds about right, now i'm trying to keep my rpms down and not have a heavy foot that I always have. But other than gas mileage, this car is awesome. And as cold as its been, its funny that just yesterday... I realized I had heat seats, and used it for the first time.

LOL We all have the need for speed.. Sometimes it's just best to cruise, especially when you have heads turning and looking at your car as they pass you by. :rock: I don't know how to reset the trip mileage, I've never done it. I have a 04' RX8 with barely 20,000 miles on it.. I'm sure someone on this forum can inform you on that, might want to check "The Tech Garage".

It was great to cruise with another rx-8, thats always fun. I even tuned down the music so I can listen to the engine sounds.

there's a button where your speed-o is. press and hold for two sec's.
it will reset, there's an A and B setting. press and release for one or the other.
press and hold to reset..

I won't be attending any meets any time soon.. Once, I get my new RX8 and fix it up, then you should see me attending the meets. Until then, you guys need to do a local RX8 meet and take pictures all together.

the taillights just looked more clear than mine.. unless it was just a newer model.. but it looked custom to me.. I don't have a clear memory of the rims. but they might have been black.. for sure I heard an exhaust.. sounded louder than mine.

I think, they might of been just newer taillights. No one has done any custom work on the lights. I'll be the first with custom molded headlights.
