I had a conversation today with a guy who has recently purchased a Sunlight Silver RX-8.

He knew of The Curse of the Silver.....but he bought it anyway. Mad, the bastard. This guy told me I was a religious colour zealot. He is right.

When I bought mine in Feb 04, I purchased the colour I hated the least. I had to have this car, it was such a great drive....but I was tormented over the colour choice..... :)

Makes 2 of us. I really wanted a Yellow :(

There's a guy in the UK with a Ti with white stripes. He posted some pretty cool shots of it a while back.

A bit too outre for me, but he tracked a lot so I guess it suited him.

Otherwise, don't be too hard on yourself Gomez. The WB is the second-best colour.

Stealth is still best. White is third.

silver, cursed or not, is still the coolest looking color at night, imo...

This is likely just due to perception or the fact that silver is the most popular color in terms of sales, but people started saying that the silvers were cursed. The power of the curse is so intense that even Titanium Gray falls under the spell just because it's considered a "dark silver".

I'll be sure to add some holy water to the to the bucket today when i wash it. Cars at teh dealer right now for some recall work. Now that i think of it i may have been cursed already. I found out about the recall on here a few days ago. ALthough i never recieved a notice from Mazda. I called them up to see why i never got the notice and after holding for about 30 minutes, I was told "Well............these things get lost in the mail all the time."

Ah twaddle.. There's not one atom of Silver in Titanium Grey... It's made of Grey tinted Titanium atoms... That's why it glows pink in different light.. Check your Physics - Titanium atoms are not attracted to large unregistered trucks, with drunk drivers and no brakes, at all - in fact they repel such beasts... On the other hand Silver is highly attracted to these demon trucks.. :eek: :eek:

I suspect that your information is in fact a rumour that is based on a single accident where a foolish Titanium owner (now ex-owner), who was wearing too much silver jewellery AND switched of their DSC, tempted fate.. Never wear silver jewellery or watches :nono: Needless to say that Silver RX-8 owners who wear too much Silver jewellery could be arrested for attempted suicide.. :scared:

Here's a Titanium one that suffered under the curse. In fact it's triple cursed, it has the dopey leather pack and the Aussie Shinka pack. The owner of this car had no chance really.... :doh:

Actually, that horrible Velocity Red is the most popular RX-8 colour. The extremely high "accident" rate of the Silver is proof of the curse.... :yesnod:

i only buy black cars. you can never go wrong with that color. except for the fact that you have to wash it every other dam day.

Mate, you are aware that the Aussie Shinka's have Titanium coloured rotor crests in the headrest. They aren't silver like the ones in our cars. I kid you not.....that was an "extra" selling feature of the SE pack... :rollingla

And are you sure that a thief that is so lazy that he (or she) only takes two wheels instead of four is going to know that they are non-grey (Silver coloured) Titanium crests... :squint: Anyway I think that the ones in our cars are definately aluminium coloured.. :yumyum: (Help Revolver - Gomez winning again..) :eek:

Hmmm... Hymee, Rx88er and maybe two others from memory... Same number as last year.. It is not a popular colour... Perhaps those owners would prefer the phase "it is a more exclusive colour"? :fingersx:

I'm safe though I think as WD accidentally splashed a teenzy amount of Holden Devil Yellow on my cars front wing :bowdown: I will however start praying, we are taking the 8 away now as Bruce can't drive a manual cause he dropped the Alfa's crank on his foot, and he hasn't been able to finish the engine!! :( Never mind.

I don't believe in all this guff about silver, ever thought about the fact that it;s a popular colour and so in numbers the stats are loaded cause there are more of us?? Huh huh??

I have a black cat, have 13 diamonds in my white gold engagement ring and don't care if I walk under a ladder I won't get spattered by paint anyways, if I spill salt I just vacuum it up. So seems to me I am the perfect SS owner!

Oh yeah just to dispel the myth a little further, my bumper got damaged by next doors ankle biters and then a few weeks later I had a kid in a falcon kiss my bumper so I got a brand new one all for free! So if the car is jinxed then mines not!

I like all the other colours apart from white...IMHO it looks to bland and does nothing for the curves of the car. Oh yeah and my parting comments is, metallics are in this summer, so I'm the one in fashion tee hee
