A similar thing happened to me. Whe I got my RX8, it did not have the appearance package, so the dealer (Santa Monica Mazda) said he would install it before I took possesion of the car. When I came to pick it up the day he said it would be ready, they were not close to being ready, on top of that I was watching the mechanic put it on wrong (they were putting on the part that was supposed to be in front of the rear tire on the left side behind the front right tire. Luckily I caught them. Then they took like 2 weeks at the body shop to fill in the holes they had mistankenly drilled into my car. Stupid, just stupid.

Not a dealer screwup, but...

Car and Driver tested a Ford Escort GT back in the late 80's/early 90's that had a problem directly from the factory... It had TWO DIFFERENT FRONT SEATS. The driver's seat was the GT-option "sports seat" and the pax seat was from the "regular" car. The material and color was apparently pretty much the same, but it was obvious that someone back at the plant had muffed up and put in the wrong chair on the right side.

Now, for a DEALER muck-up.

Almost the same scenario, but slightly different. We were just about to pick up a brand-new Taurus SHO back in '92, and the dealer discovered a huge slash across the bottom of the passenger seat, of unknown origin since it had just rolled off the truck a day prior. Had to wait a week for a new seat to be installed, and it was only when we got the car got that it was noticed that THOSE seats were different. The "new" seat had piping around the major seams and on the headrest, and the "original" seat on the driver's side didn't (but they were otherwise identical). Took another week to get the CORRECT seat. :)

I became a member, now I can view the boards, but not that thread. Anyone know what section of the forum it's in, so I can go straight there? I searched for all threads containing "dealer, dealership, wing, spoiler, and backwards" in the thread title, and had no luck.

Maybe their server ran out of power, it needs vtec y0..
